"Classy 101" is a song by the Colombian singer and songwriter Feid and the Puerto Rican rapper Young Miko from Feid's second extended play (EP), Ferxxocalipsis (2023). Feid,Miko,Wain and Bonaroti wrote the song with its producers,Caleb Calloway,Mauro and Julia Lewis. After attracting the attention of several artists by sharing the stage, collaborating with them, and going viral on TikTok,Miko initially composed the song in Los Angeles until she surprisingly met Feid there, having no contact with him before and being always his fan. Universal Music Latino released the song as a single on March 31 with the premiere of its music video. It was included in Ferxxocalipsis on December 1. Music journalists described "Classy 101" as a reggaeton with a minimalist sound and an edgy perreo fusion that talks about a carnal desire linked to lust. They also praised the song for its vocals and chorus sound.
The song peaked at the top 10 in twelve countries and it was Miko's first entry and Feid's third on the Billboard Hot 100. Deathofgian directed the music video for the song, which portrays a couple in love riding a motorcycle and shows Miko and Feid singing in different scenarios. It won a Los 40 Music Award,a Lo Nuestro Award and two Latin American Music Awards. The song was included on the set list of Miko and Feid's respective headlining concert tours, and was performed at the Los 40 Music Awards and at several music festivals.
Young Miko collaborated for the first time with Caleb Calloway on "105 Freestyle". [1] During 2022 and 2023,Miko began to attract the attention of many artists,so she shared the stage with Bad Bunny with Villano Antillano at a music festival, and collaborated with several of them, including Arcángel ("Kilimanjaro") and Yandel ("Cuando Te Toca"). [2] [3] [4] She also released her first studio album,Trap Kitty. It included the songs "Riri" and "Lisa",which went viral through TikTok. [3] [4] In an interview with El Hormiguero ,Miko stated that she initially composed "Classy 101" while she was in Los Angeles, where she met Salomón Villada (Feid). [5] She clarified that she had not composed for him nor had there been any contact with him before and she was always his fan. She described the process as "super-natural",and added that "it was very easy to flow with him." [5]
During Villada's concert tour,Ferxxo Nitro Jam Tour,he announced and released "Remix Exclusivo" on March 17,2023 through Universal Music Latino. [6] [7] [8] Two weeks later, after Villada's concert in Lima,Peru, part of Ferxxo Nitro Jam Tour, the song was released on March 31 as a single through Universal Latino. [19] It was recorded, mixed and mastered by Wain at 24k Mastering in Los Angeles, and EARCANDY helped him for mixing. [19] Lyrically, SDP Noticias' Alexa Strada said that "[Classy 101] talks about a carnal desire [...] it is implied that she wants to have an encounter with this person who incites her to physical enjoyment [...] this provocative figure is spoken of as a person who goes beyond the romantic and goes straight to staring and flirting." [20] Los 40's Miguel Ángel Bargueño named the song as "a reggaeton with a minimalist sound and relentless rhythm that invites you to twerk." [21] "Classy 101" was included on Billboard 's list of the best Latin songs of 2023 so far, ranking it at number eight and writing that "the hard-hitting, edgy perreo fusion laces Feid's distinct vocals and Miko's dulcet range for a song about a girl who's so fine that it's impossible to ghost her."
