Dikeledi Gladys Mahlangu is a South African politician who is currently serving as Chairperson of the Select Committee on Appropriations in the National Council of Provinces. She formerly represented her party,the African National Congress,in the National Assembly from 2014 to 2019. Before that,she was a Member of the Mpumalanga Provincial Legislature and from 2009 to 2014 she served in the Mpumalanga Executive Council under Premier David Mabuza.
In the 1990s,Mahlangu was a local leader of the African National Congress (ANC) and National Education,Health and Allied Workers' Union in KwaMhlanga in Mpumalanga. [1] [2] She is also a member of the ANC Women's League. [1] [2] In the 2009 general election,she was elected to a seat in the Mpumalanga Provincial Legislature. She was also appointed to the Mpumalanga Executive Council by David Mabuza,the newly elected Premier of Mpumalanga,who made her Member of the Executive Council (MEC) for Health and Social Development. [3] On 19 July 2011,Mabuza announced that Mahlangu would swop portfolios with Clifford Mkasi,becoming MEC for Public Works,Roads and Transport. [4] While she was in that portfolio,in 2012,Mahlangu was elected for the first time to the Provincial Executive Committee of the ANC's Mpumalanga branch. [1]
Mahlangu left the provincial legislature and Executive Council after the 2014 general election,in which she was elected to the National Assembly,ranked 64th on the ANC's national party list. [2] After a full legislative term in the National Assembly,Mahlangu was elected to the National Council of Provinces (NCOP) in the 2019 general election. [2] The ANC also announced that it would nominate her to chair the NCOP's Select Committee on Appropriations. [5] She was elected Chairperson on 2 July 2019,and also in July was elected Co-Chairperson of Parliament's Joint Standing Committee on the Financial Management of Parliament. [2]
David Dabede "DD" Mabuza is a South African politician who served as deputy president of South Africa from February 2018 to February 2023. He was the deputy president of the African National Congress (ANC) from December 2017 to December 2022 and was previously the Premier of Mpumalanga from 2009 to 2018,throughout the presidency of his former political ally Jacob Zuma. Mabuza served as a Member of Parliament from 2018 until his resignation in 2023.

Petrus Simon Ngomane,known as Pat Ngomane,is a South African politician. A member of the African National Congress,he was elected to the Mpumalanga Provincial Legislature in May 2014. He served as the Member of the Executive Council (MEC) for Community Safety,Security and Liaison from August 2016 until May 2019,when he was appointed MEC for Finance,Economic Development and Tourism. Ngomane served in the position until an executive council reshuffle in February 2021.
Sikhumbuzo Eric Kholwane is a South African politician and lawyer who served as the Mpumalanga MEC for Finance,Economic Development and Tourism from May 2014 to May 2019. He was also a member of the Mpumalanga Provincial Legislature during that time. Prior to serving in the Mpumalanga provincial government,Kholwane was a Member of the National Assembly of South Africa from 2004 to 2014. He is a member of both the African National Congress and the South African Communist Party.
Dikeledi Phillistus Magadzi is a South African African National Congress politician who has been a Member of the National Assembly since 2014. She served as Chairperson of the Portfolio Committee on Transport from 2014 to 2019,as Deputy Minister of Transport from 2019 to 2021 and as Deputy Minister of Water and Sanitation from 2021 until 2023.
