American DJ and record producer Diplo has released four studio albums, two reissue albums, ten EPs, six compilation albums, five mixtapes, one live album and a series of singles, music videos and other appearances. His alias, short for Diplodocus , derives from his childhood fascination with dinosaurs. [1] During his rise to fame, Diplo worked with British musician M.I.A., an artist who is credited with giving him exposure in his early career. [2] Since then, Diplo has worked on production and mixtape projects with many other pop artists, such as Die Antwoord, Britney Spears, Madonna, Shakira, Beyoncé, No Doubt, Justin Bieber, Usher, Snoop Dogg, Chris Brown, CL, and G-Dragon. [3] As an artist, Diplo, combined with his other collaborations Major Lazer, Jack Ü and Silk City, three electronic groups. [4]

In 2001, the band regrouped and added James Valentine to the lineup, and pursued a new direction under the name Maroon 5.

Formed in 2002, OneRepublic first found commercial recognition when their song "Apologize" was released onto Myspace in 2006 and they subsequently became the biggest act on that site. It was remixed by American record producer Timbaland, appearing on his album Shock Value. Released as a single in 2007, the song topped the charts in multiple countries, including Australia and Canada, while also reaching the top three in the United States and the United Kingdom. It has since sold over 3.6 million digital downloads in the United States. The band's debut studio album, Dreaming Out Loud, was released in November 2007. It hit the top ten on the albums charts of countries such as Australia, Canada and the United Kingdom. American rapper Macklemore has released three studio albums and two mixtapes as a solo artist. The origin of the name Macklemore is from when Haggerty attended Nathan Hale High School and was required to invent a superhero for an art project. At the beginning of his musical career, he recorded an EP titled Open Your Eyes in 2000 under the name Professor Macklemore, which he distributed himself. This initial work of his was also considered a mixtape, as some of the songs on this EP were written separately. His only official mixtape, The Unplanned Mixtape, released in 2009, consisted of ten songs. Macklemore dropped "Professor" from his name, and released his first official full-length album, The Language of My World in January 2005.
