Dominican Academy is an American Catholic college preparatory school for girls located on the Upper East Side of the Manhattan borough of New York City. It was founded by the Dominican Sisters of St. Mary of the Springs (now Dominican Sisters of Peace).
The school is accredited by the New York State Association of Independent Schools (NYSAIS), [3] the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools, the Board of Regents of the University of the State of New York, and has been recognized twice with the National Blue Ribbon Schools Program Award of Excellence by the United States Department of Education, [4] the highest award an American school can receive. The Marine Academy of Science and Technology (MAST) is a coeducational four-year magnet public high school located in the Sandy Hook section of Middletown Township, in Monmouth County, New Jersey, United States, serving students in ninth through twelfth grade. The school offers learning in all subjects, specializing in marine technology and science. It is one of five career academies administered by the Monmouth County Vocational School District (MCVSD). MAST requires each student to participate in the Naval Junior Reserve Officers' Training Corps (NJROTC) every year as well as an Annual Military Inspection (AMI) in the spring or fall. The school's curriculum focuses on marine sciences and marine technology/engineering. The school offers small classes with close personal attention.
