Earl is a town in Cleveland County, North Carolina, United States. The population was 260 at the 2010 census.
Earl incorporated in 1889, and was named for local landowner Abel Earl. [4]

The racial makeup of the town was 86.32% White, 11.97% African American, 0.85% from other races, and 0.85% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 2.56% of the population.
