The FAMAS Award for Best Picture is one of the FAMAS Awards, awards given to people working in the motion picture industry by the Filipino Academy of Movie Arts and Sciences Award, which are voted on by Palanca Award-winning writers and movie columnists, writers and people in the film industry (directors, actors, producers, technicians, crew etc.). The Best Picture FAMAS has always been considered the most important and top prize, and has been awarded by Filipino Academy of Movie Arts and Sciences ever since the first ceremony in 1953.

Contents

The FAMAS Award winner for Best Picture is usually the most prestigious selection of the best Filipino motion picture of the year. The FAMAS Best Pictures are held in high regard as the FAMAS is the equivalent of the Academy Awards in the Philippines.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Academy Award for Best Animated Feature</span> Film category of the Oscars

The Academy Award for Best Animated Feature is given each year for the best animated film. An animated feature is defined by the academy as a film with a running time of more than 40 minutes in which characters' performances are created using a frame-by-frame technique, a significant number of the major characters are animated, and animation figures in no less than 75 percent of the running time. The Academy Award for Best Animated Feature was first awarded in 2002 for films released in 2001.

The Filipino Academy of Movie Arts and Sciences Awards, or simply the FAMAS Awards, are the annual honors given by the Filipino Academy of Movie Arts and Sciences (FAMAS), an organization composed of writers and movie columnists, for achievements in Philippine cinema for a calendar year. Members of the academy including avid movie viewers, fans or enthusiasts cast their votes on who should win the statuettes in the different categories they were nominated. His accolades include a Guam International Film Festival Award, two Newport Beach Film Festival Award, a Gawad Urian Award, two Metro Manila Film Festival Awards and four Star Awards for Movies, including nominations for an ASEAN International Film Festival and Awards, six FAMAS Awards and four Luna Awards.

Maria Theresa Rosario Garcia Nayve-Israel, known professionally as Rio Locsin, is a Filipino actress. Known primarily for her roles in films with underlying social themes, she began her career playing daring characters and eventually ventured dramatic roles in the succeeding years, noted for her portrayals in Lino Brocka's Ina, Kapatid, Anak (1979) & Init (1979), Elwood Perez's Disgrasyada (1979), Ishmael Bernal's Manila By Night (1980) & Working Girls (1984) and Laurice Guillen's Kapag Puso’y Sinugatan (1985). In 2009, she was named Best Supporting Actress at the Cinema One Originals Digital Film Festival and was inducted at the Eastwood City Walk of Fame in 2012, in addition to numerous nominations from FAMAS Awards, Gawad Urian, Luna and Golden Screen TV Awards.

The 61st Filipino Academy of Movie Arts and Sciences Awards Night was held at the AFP Theater in Camp Aguinaldo, Quezon City on April 21, 2013.

The FAMAS Award for Best Actor is one of the FAMAS Awards given to people working in the motion picture industry by the Filipino Academy of Movie Arts and Sciences Award, which are voted on by Palanca Award-winning writers and movie columnists and writers within the industry.

The FAMAS Award for Best Supporting Actress is one of the FAMAS Awards given to people working in the motion picture industry by the Filipino Academy of Movie Arts and Sciences Award, which are voted on by Palanca Award-winning writers and movie columnists and writers within the industry.

The 34th Filipino Academy of Movie Arts and Sciences Awards Night was held in 1986 in the Philippines. The event recognizes outstanding achievements in the Filipino movie industry for the prior year.

The awards Night was held at Philippine Social Science Center Auditorium, Quezon City. on December 28, 2017.

The 66th Filipino Academy of Movie Arts and Sciences (FAMAS) Awards was an awarding ceremony given by the Filipino Academy of Movie Arts and Sciences (FAMAS), an organization composed of prize-winning writers and movie columnists, giving recognition to the Philippine mainstream and independent films, actors, actresses, directors and production staffs for their achievements in the year 2017. The awards night is also produced by Ms. Donna B. Sanchez of Megavision Integrated Resources.

The 71st Filipino Academy of Movie Arts and Sciences (FAMAS) Awards took place on August 13, 2023, at the Manila Hotel in Manila and honored the best Filipino films released in 2022.
