FIH Awards

The FIH Awards are awarded annually by the International Hockey Federation to the male and female field hockey players adjudged to be the best in the world. The awards were established in 1998 and have been awarded annually ever since. In 2001 the FIH Young Player of the Year award was created, to be awarded to the best young field hockey player of the year. [1] [2]

Parattu Raveendran Sreejesh is an Indian field hockey coach and former player. He was the captain of the national team and played as a goalkeeper. Since 2024, he is the head coach of the India men's national U-21 team. He is regarded as one of the best goal keepers in the history of field hockey. Sreejesh played a vital role in the Indian national team's bronze medal wins at the 2020 and 2024 Summer Olympics. He won the best male goalkeeper award at the FIH Awards in 2020, 2022, and 2024.

The 2014 Men's Hockey Champions Trophy was the 35th edition of the Hockey Champions Trophy men's field hockey tournament. It was held between 6–14 December 2014 in Bhubaneswar, India. From this year on the tournament began to be held biennially due to the introduction of the Hockey World League, returning to its original format changed in 1980.

The inauguration ceremony which was held on 27 November 2018, witnessed the biggest ever drone flying show in India.

The 2018 Men's Hockey Champions Trophy was the 37th and the last edition of the Hockey Champions Trophy for men. It was held from 23 June to 1 July 2018 in Breda, Netherlands. The tournament will be replaced by the Hockey Pro League (HPL) in 2019.

Rupinder Pal Singh is an Indian former field hockey player, who represented the India national field hockey team. He plays as a fullback and is known for his abilities as one of the best drag flickers in the world. He represented India in the 2014 Commonwealth Games at Glasgow, 2014 Asian Games at Incheon, 2016 Olympic Games held at Rio de Janeiro, and at the 2018 Commonwealth Games, held at Gold Coast, Australia. He was part of the Indian hockey team that won a bronze medal at the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo and announced his retirement from international Hockey after 2020 Olympics.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Harmanpreet Singh</span> Indian field hockey player

Harmanpreet Singh is an Indian field hockey player as well as the captain of the Indian national hockey team. He plays as a defender, is a penalty corner specialist, and is regarded as one of the best drag flickers in the world. He has scored the most number of international goals for India in modern day hockey. He led the team to clinch the bronze medal at the 2024 Paris Olympics. This was his second bronze in three appearances at the Olympics. Singh also captained the team to win a gold at the 2022 Asian Games. He has won the Player of the Year title at the FIH Awards thrice.

The Hero Asian Champions Trophy 2018 was held at Muscat, Oman between October 18–28, 2018. It was the fifth edition of the Asian Hockey Champions Trophy, a field hockey tournament for the six best Asian national teams. This was announced by the Asian Hockey Federation (AHF) on 29 January 2018. The Oman Hockey Association hosted the tournament.

Yibbi Jansen is a Dutch professional field hockey player. She began playing for HC Den Bosch and moved to Oranje-Rood in Eindhoven in 2016.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">2023 Men's FIH Hockey World Cup</span> Field hockey world championships in India

The 2023 Men's FIH Hockey World Cup was the 15th edition of the Men's FIH Hockey World Cup, the quadrennial world championship for men's national field hockey teams organized by the International Hockey Federation. It was held at the Kalinga Hockey Stadium in Bhubaneswar and at the 20,000 seat Birsa Munda International Hockey Stadium in Rourkela, India from 13 to 29 January 2023.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Hardik Singh</span> Indian field hockey player

Hardik Singh is an Indian field hockey player who plays as a midfielder for the Indian national team.

The 2015 Men's Hockey Under–21 Invitational Tournament was an invitational women's under–21 field hockey competition, hosted by Hockey Netherlands. The tournament took place between 18 and 25 July 2015 in Breda, Netherlands. A total of six teams competed for the title. It was held alongside a women's tournament.

The 2024 Men's International Festival of Hockey was the third edition of the International Festival of Hockey, a field hockey tournament held in Australia. The tournament took place in Perth from 6–13 April 2024.
