Fackler, also known as Flackler, Facler, or Fackler's Station, is an unincorporated community in Jackson County, Alabama, United States. Fackler is located on the former Memphis and Charleston Railroad, [2] and its post office was established in 1869. [3] During the Chattanooga Campaign of the American Civil War, the 90th Illinois Volunteer Infantry Regiment was based out of Fackler. [4] Phillip Hamman, known as "The Savior of Greenbrier", was formerly buried near Fackler, on the grounds of his plantation home at Hammon Hollow in Inglis-Middleton Cemetery. (Hammon is another popular spelling of his name.)
Colbert County is a county located in the northwestern part of the U.S. state of Alabama. As of the 2010 census the county's population was 54,428. The county seat is Tuscumbia. Its name is in honor of brothers George and Levi Colbert, Chickasaw Indian chiefs.
James Harrison Wilson was a United States Army topographic engineer and a Union Army Major General in the American Civil War. He served as an aide to Maj. Gen. George B. McClellan during the Maryland Campaign before joining Maj. Gen. Ulysses S. Grant's army in the Western Theater, where he was promoted to brigadier general. In 1864, he transferred from engineering to the cavalry, where he displayed notable leadership in many engagements of the Overland Campaign, though his attempt to destroy Lee’s supply lines failed when he was routed by a much smaller force of Confederate irregulars.
Fort Albany was a bastioned earthwork that the Union Army built in Arlington County in Virginia. The Army constructed the fort during May 1861 as part of its Civil War defenses of Washington.

Booth is an unincorporated community in Autauga County, Alabama, United States. It was named after the Booth family. Booth lies along U.S. Route 82 8 mi (13 km) northwest of the city of Prattville, the county seat of Autauga County. US 82 also runs northwest 29 mi (47 km) to Maplesville. Although it is unincorporated, it has a post office that was established in 1899.
Benjamin Franklin Potts was a lawyer, politician, and soldier from the state of Ohio who served as a general in the Union Army during the American Civil War, as well as a postbellum Governor of the Montana Territory from 1870 to 1883. He commanded a brigade of infantry in the Western Theater in some of the war's most important campaigns and repeatedly received commendations for gallantry and tactical judgement in combat.
James Lauderdale (1768–1814) was an American militia officer who died during the War of 1812. A native of Botetourt County, Virginia, Lauderdale moved to Sumner County, Tennessee, as a young man. In 1813, he joined a unit of cavalry militia under General John Coffee. He later served under General Andrew Jackson and was wounded during the Battle of Talladega, during what was called the Creek War. He was then commissioned as a Lieutenant-Colonel of Volunteers, but died during the first Battle of New Orleans in December 1814.
Barton, also known as Barton Station, Barton Depot, or Barton's, is an unincorporated community located in western Colbert County, Alabama, United States. It is about ten miles west of the county seat of Tuscumbia, and just south of Tennessee River. The community is about four miles southeast of Cherokee on US Route 72.
Nixburg is an unincorporated community in Coosa County, Alabama, United States. Nixburg was established by 1850 by Solomon Robbins, who moved there from North Carolina, and was originally called Robbinsville. It was later renamed Nixburg in honor of the Nix family, who were early settlers of the area. Its post office was established in 1836 and closed in 1978. The Oakachoy Covered Bridge, which was formerly listed on the National Register of Historic Places and the Alabama Register of Landmarks and Heritage, was located in Nixburg. The bridge was destroyed by vandals on June 2, 2001. The Old Shiloh Cemetery, also located in Nixburg, is listed on the Alabama Register of Landmarks and Heritage.
