Fairpoint is a ghost town in Cherry Grove Township, Goodhue County, in the U.S. state of Minnesota. [2]
Fairpoint was platted as a small village in 1857. [2] A post office was established at Fairpoint from 1857 to 1861, [3] and was reestablished in 1865 and remained in operation until it was discontinued in 1902. [4] The Fairpoint cemetery remains today. [5]

Chenega is a census-designated place (CDP) on Evans Island in the Valdez-Cordova Census Area in the U.S. state of Alaska. Located in Prince William Sound, the CDP consists of the Chugach Alutiiq village of Chenega Bay, which was established only after the Good Friday earthquake destroyed the original community on Chenega Island to the north. As of the 2010 census, the population of the CDP was 76, largely Alaska Natives. Chenega Bay is in the Chugach School District and has one school, Chenega Bay Community School, serving a little over 10 students from preschool through high school

Carpenter's Station, Kentucky, originally "Carpenter's Fort", was established about 2 miles (3 km) west of present-day Hustonville, Kentucky, on the present-day county line between Casey and Lincoln counties, by three brothers, George, John, and Adam Carpenter, who ventured there from Rockingham County, Virginia, in the summer of 1779. The brothers were of Germanic descent, sons of George Zimmerman, who was born c. 1720 in Switzerland, emigrated to the colony of Pennsylvania around 1740, and settled in Rockingham County before the American Revolutionary War.
