Fearless Movement is the upcoming fifth studio album by American jazz saxophonist Kamasi Washington. It is set to be released on May 3, 2024, through Young Turks Recordings.
Washington refers to Fearless Movement as his "dance album", though not in the literal sense. He views "dance" as "movement and expression" and "expressing your spirit through your body", equivalent to music itself. [1] The album focuses "on the earthly", which marks a "creative pivot" in his career. [2] The saxophonist drew inspiration from his newfound fatherhood, while his daughter even contributed to one song. [3] Washington shared the closing track "Prologue" alongside the album announcement on March 6, 2024. [4] Fearless Movement features contributions from André 3000, Thundercat, George Clinton, BJ the Chicago Kid, D Smoke, and Terrace Martin. [5]

James Blake Litherland is an English singer, songwriter, and record producer. He first gained recognition following the release of three extended plays—The Bells Sketch, CMYK and Klavierwerke—in 2010. He signed with A&M Records to release his self-titled debut album (2011) the following year, which was met with critical praise and peaked within the top ten of the UK Albums Chart. Both CD and LP versions of the album contain an extra disc called "The Choice" which is hidden within a closed part of the packaging which must be cut open to access the disc. The Choice was released digitally as a separate LP on June 29, 2018.

It Is What It Is is the fourth studio album by American musician Thundercat, released through Brainfeeder on April 3, 2020. It was preceded by five singles: "King of the Hill," which was released as a single from the label's compilation album Brainfeeder X in 2018, and "Black Qualls," "Dragonball Durag," "Fair Chance," and "Innerstellar Love," the latter four being released in 2020. Its members include saxophonist Kamasi Washington, bassists Miles Mosley and Stephen "Thundercat" Bruner, drummers Ronald Bruner Jr. and Tony Austin, pianists Cameron Graves and Brandon Coleman, trombonist Ryan Porter, and multi-instrumentalist Terrace Martin. Most of the members of the group gained prominence for their contributions to Kendrick Lamar's critically acclaimed album To Pimp a Butterfly (2015).
Ryan Porter is an American jazz trombonist. Based in Los Angeles, he is a founding member of the West Coast Get Down jazz collective. A longtime collaborator of West Coast Get Down saxophonist Kamasi Washington, he has also toured with Stevie Wonder, Rihanna, Kanye West, Snoop Dogg, Lauryn Hill, and Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds.
