Footherley is a hamlet [1] in the Lichfield District in Staffordshire, England. It is located close to the village of Shenstone and town of Sutton Coldfield. The hamlet is in Shenstone parish [2] , close to the villages of Shenstone, Stonnall and Mill Green. The hamlet also lies close to the Staffordshire/West Midlands County border near Sutton Coldfield.
Footherley likely dates back to the 16th/17th centuries due to the then-famous families in the area such as the "Brown Family" and Footherley Hall being occupied by Francis Floyer. Before the "Cooper Family" took over the halls residency in the 19th century. [3] In January 1988, Footherley Farmhouse and its attached barn were given Grade II listed status by Historic England. [4]
