Golwg360 ( Welsh for '360 View') is a Welsh-language news website. It aims to provide a rolling news service from Wales and elsewhere, as well as sport and cultural news. Published by Golwg Newydd, [1] it includes some content from the weekly Welsh-language magazine Golwg as well as web-only content produced by its own staff.
The website was launched in 2009 with funding from the Welsh Government. [1] The website received 14,537 individual daily visits and 160,361 page visits during 2018–19. [2] During 2019–20, the average daily figure for individual daily visits increased to 16,185; page visits decreased to 147,758. [3]
Welsh is a Celtic language of the Brittonic subgroup that is native to the Welsh people. Welsh is spoken natively in Wales, by some in England, and in Y Wladfa. Historically, it has also been known in English as "British", "Cambrian", "Cambric" and "Cymric".
S4C is a Welsh language free-to-air public broadcast television channel. Launched on 1 November 1982, it was the first television channel to be aimed specifically at a Welsh-speaking audience. S4C's headquarters are based in Carmarthen, at the University of Wales Trinity Saint David's creative and digital centre, Yr Egin. It also has regional offices in Caernarfon and Cardiff. As of 2019–20, S4C had an average of 101 employees. S4C is the fourth-oldest terrestrial television channel in Wales after BBC One, ITV and BBC Two.
The Welsh Language Society is a direct action pressure group in Wales campaigning for the right of Welsh people to use the Welsh language in every aspect of their lives.
Guto Harri is a Welsh broadcaster, writer and strategic communications consultant. He most recently served as Downing Street Director of Communications, having been appointed by Boris Johnson in February 2022.
Golwg is a Welsh-language magazine established in 1988. The magazine is published by the company with the same name on a weekly basis. It covers current events and features and claims a circulation of 12,000 a month, the largest circulation of any magazine in Wales.
The National Eisteddfod of Wales is the largest of several eisteddfodau that are held annually, mostly in Wales. Its eight days of competitions and performances are considered the largest music and poetry festival in Europe. Competitors typically number 6,000 or more, and overall attendance generally exceeds 150,000 visitors. The 2018 Eisteddfod was held in Cardiff Bay with a fence-free 'Maes'. In 2020, the event was held virtually under the name AmGen; events were held over a one-week period.

The media in Wales provide services in both English and Welsh, and play a role in modern Welsh culture. BBC Wales began broadcasting in 1923 have helped to promote a form of standardised spoken Welsh, and one historian has argued that the concept of Wales as a single national entity owes much to modern broadcasting. The national broadcasters are based in the capital, Cardiff.
Y Cymro is a Welsh-language newspaper, which was first published in 1932. It was founded in Wrexham, and succeeded other newspapers of the same name that had existed during the 19th and early 20th centuries. It is Wales's only national newspaper in Welsh and was previously published weekly. In 2017, the owners and publishers, Tindle Newspapers Group, announced that they would stop publication and that they were looking for new owners to publish the paper. In March 2018, after negotiations between the two companies, its new owners Cyfryngau Cymru Cyf. started publishing Y Cymro as a monthly newspaper. The new company also set up a new Y Cymro website.
The Welsh Wikipedia is the Welsh-language edition of Wikipedia. This edition was started in July 2003. On 23 June 2007, it reached 10,000 articles, the 66th Wikipedia to do so. On 20 November 2008, it attained 20,000 articles. Less than a year later, on 28 October 2009, it reached 25,000 articles. In July 2013 it reached 50,000 articles and is now the 41st largest Wikipedia edition. It is the only internet resource of its kind in Welsh and has an average of 2.7 million hits every month, making it the most popular Welsh language website. It, therefore, has an important place in Welsh language online culture.
Y Lolfa is a Welsh printing and publishing company based in Tal-y-bont, Ceredigion, in Mid-Wales. It publishes a wide variety of books in Welsh and English. It also provides a commercial print service. Y Lolfa was established in 1967 by Robat Gruffudd. It is now an independent, limited company run by the founder's sons, Garmon Gruffudd and Lefi Gruffudd, with Paul Williams as production manager.

Y Bandana Are a Welsh language alternative rock band that formed in Caernarfon in 2007. The band is composed of brothers Tomos Owens (keyboard) and Siôn Owens, their cousin Gwilym Bowen Rhys and Robin Jones (percussion). They are known for combining humorous lyrics with catchy melodies.
Theatr Genedlaethol Cymru is the Welsh language national theatre of Wales, founded in 2003. It has a counterpart in National Theatre Wales, the English language national theatre company of Wales, founded in 2009. Together the two theatre companies provide a national platform for drama in Wales.

Nation.Cymru (transl. Nation.Wales) is a Welsh news service established in 2017 with the aim of creating a national English-language news service for Wales. It receives £20,000 a year from the Books Council of Wales and the rest of its financial support comes from 1,000 monthly subscribers to the site.
Y Byd yn ei Le is a Welsh television current affairs series broadcast on S4C since 2018. It was presented by the former BBC Chief Political Correspondent, Guto Harri, until 2022.
Dyfodol i'r Iaith is a non-party political organisation in Wales that works to ensure that the Welsh language occupies a central role in Welsh life and remains a priority on the political agenda. It is a lobbying pressure group which works exclusively through constitutional means, seeking to influence the Welsh Government, local government, political parties, the heads of public bodies and others to place the language at the heart of their policies and actions.
It is being run by Golwg Newydd, the sister company of Golwg which publishes a weekly Welsh language magazine. The assembly government is giving the site £200,000 annually for three years.
