Good Hope is a small fishing farming community located on the east coast of Dominica. The community is home to about 500 residents[ citation needed ]. The community is mainly managed by a Resource Centre Management Committee, which oversees projects of development, the functioning of the community's resource centre and also the overall well-being of the community[ citation needed ].
Good Hope has one small and rocky beach. A short distance from shore are two small rock outcroppings which can be climbed and played upon. These are locally known as "Ti Loo" and "Gwo Loo"[ citation needed ].
Within the community you can find a few local "shops", one disco, the aforementioned resource centre (which contains a pre-school, main hall, computer centre, library and kitchen) and local homes. The village has had access to running water, electricity and cable television for about 10-15 years. Most households have electricity and cable television[ citation needed ]. Hope is a census-designated place (CDP) in Kenai Peninsula Borough in the U.S. state of Alaska. It is 17 miles south from Anchorage. As of the 2010 census the population was 192, up from 137 in 2000.

The W. A. C. Bennett Dam is a large hydroelectric dam on the Peace River in northern British Columbia, Canada. At 186 metres (610 ft) high, it is one of the world's highest earth fill dams. Construction of the dam began in 1961 and culminated in 1968. At the dam, the Finlay, the Parsnip and the Peace rivers feed into Williston Lake, also referred to as Williston Reservoir. It is the third largest artificial lake in North America as well as the largest body of fresh water in British Columbia. Williston Lake runs 250 kilometres north–south and 150 kilometres east–west.

The Oyster was a hydro-electric wave energy device that used the motion of ocean waves to generate electricity. It was made up of a Power Connector Frame (PCF), which is bolted to the seabed, and a Power Capture Unit (PCU). The PCU is a hinged buoyant flap that moves back and forth with movement of the waves. The movement of the flap drives two hydraulic pistons that feed high-pressured water to an onshore hydro-electric turbine, which drives a generator to make electricity. Oyster was stationed at the European Marine Energy Centre (EMEC) at its Billia Croo site in Orkney, Scotland until the company ceased trading in 2015.
