Gross Park is a public park in Lakeview, Chicago located at the 1700 West block of Henderson St between Paulina St and Ravenswood Ave. [1] Its maintenance is shared between the Chicago Park District and Gross Park Neighbors Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. [2] Each summer the park hosts a Shakespeare in the Park event. [3]
The park memorializes Samuel Eberly Gross, the property developer of the neighborhood in the 1880’s. He took inspiration from the boulevards of Europe and included a green space in his urban plan for the area, which at the time was outside of the urban area of Chicago.
In 1998, the invasive Asian long-horned beetle caused the loss of many trees in the park; [4] the Chicago Park District and Gross Park Neighbors Foundation began restoration the following year. In 2008, the Illinois Department of Agriculture announced that it had eradicated the Asian long-horned beetle in Chicago. [5]

A special feature is the 2 ft narrow-gauge Emerson Zooline Railroad with passenger trains pulled by Chance Rides C.P. Huntington locomotives that encircle the zoo, stopping at the more popular attractions.

Albany Park is one of 77 well-defined community areas of Chicago, Illinois, United States. Located on the Northwest Side of the City of Chicago with the North Branch of the Chicago River forming its east and north boundaries, it includes the ethnically diverse Albany Park neighborhood, with one of the highest percentages of foreign-born residents of any Chicago neighborhood.

To the north is Edgewater, to the west is Lincoln Square, and to the south is Lakeview. Near the lake are some of the northern reaches of Lincoln Park, including Montrose Beach and multiple nature reserves. The area has a mix of commercial and residential development, and includes a well-established entertainment district of clubs and concert venues, and was a center for early film making. Truman College, a two-year city college, is located here, and the area's southwest corner includes the historic 19th century Graceland Cemetery.
Hermosa is one of 77 designated Chicago community areas and is located on the northwest side of Chicago, Illinois. The Hermosa community area contains the Kelvyn Park and Hermosa neighborhoods. The area includes the birthplace of Walt Disney and is the former headquarters of the Schwinn Bicycle Company. While being one of the smaller community areas, Hermosa is one of the city's most densely populated neighborhoods.

East Barnet Valley was a local government district from 1874 to 1965 around the town of East Barnet. It was partly in the counties of Hertfordshire and Middlesex until 1889, when the Middlesex part was transferred to Hertfordshire. It was renamed East Barnet in 1935.
