The Hangout Music Festival (commonly referred to as Hangout Fest or Hangout) is an annual three-day music festival held at the public beaches of Gulf Shores, Alabama. [1] [2] It was founded by A.J. Niland and Shaul Zislin in 2010, and is produced by Huka Entertainment. The event features many genres of music, including rock, indie, hip hop, and electronic dance music. It is the first major music festival held on the beach in the city. [1] [3] [4]

2010

The inaugural Hangout Beach Festival was held on May 14–16, 2010. The headliners were Trey Anastasio Band, Zac Brown Band, and John Legend. Other notable performers included: The Roots, Ben Harper and Relentless7, The Black Crowes, Guster, Keller Williams, Alison Krauss and Union Station, Gov’t Mule, Ray Lamontagne, Robert Randolph and The Family Band, Michael Franti and Spearhead, Rodrigo Y Gabriela, Matisyahu, Grace Potter and the Nocturnals, North Mississippi Allstars Duo, Pnuma Trio ALO, Papa Mali, The Whigs, Ozomatli, OK Go, Black Joe Lewis and the Honeybears, Toubab Krewe, Needtobreathe, Jeff Austin & Friends, Moon Taxi, and Girl Talk.

2011

The 2011 Hangout Music Festival took place on May 20–22, 2011. The festival added another stage and began booking larger headlining acts. [6] Attendance had to be capped at 35,000 per day, an unprecedented number for the second year of a music festival in the region, due to safety concerns. [7] [8] [9] [10] The 2011 event was estimated to have generated approximately $30 million for the Gulf Shores area economy. [10]

The 2012 festival took place May 18–20, 2012. Advance tickets for the 2012 event, which continued to be capped at 35,000 attendees per day, sold out within one hour. [11] General admission tickets sold out on February 21, 2012, almost three months prior to the event. [12]

The 2014 festival took place May 16–18, 2014. 40,000 tickets were sold, up from the previous audience cap of 35,000. [14] The 2014 festival was the first to allow access to the Gulf of Mexico, which was previously restricted to security and artists. [14] [15]

RockNess was an annual music festival which took place in Scotland at Clune Farm, Dores, on the banks of Loch Ness near Inverness in the Scottish Highlands. The first Rockness festival took place on 24 June 2006 and continued to grow in size every year until 2013, which was the last running year of the festival. In June 2008 AEG took over as the main promoter of the festival. The Osheaga Music and Arts Festival is a multi-day music festival in Montreal, Quebec, that is held every summer at Parc Jean-Drapeau on Île Sainte-Hélène. The festival takes place on six stages with various audience capacities. Translated from their French equivalents, they are called "River Stage," "Mountain Stage," "Green Stage," "Trees Stage," "Valley Stage," and "Zone Piknic Electronik." BayFest was an annual three-day music festival held in the heart of downtown Mobile, Alabama. Founded in 1995, the festival offered a variety of music including pop, jazz, classic rock, alternative, R&B, rap, gospel, and modern rock. It was based at Bienville Square. The Launching Pad stage during Bayfest focused on local and regional talent. The event encouraged "going green" by providing for recycling throughout the grounds.

The Tramlines Festival is an annual music festival held in Sheffield, UK. The festival was originally free to attend, but now requires tickets. The line-up consists of national and local artists. The festival was curated and organised by a panel comprising local venue owners, promoters and volunteers. The name of the festival is inspired by the city's tram network. Tramlines held its first festival in 2009, which attracted 35,000 fans and was seen as a huge success, and 2010's event doubled that figure. The success of Tramlines Festival 2011 led to the event winning 'Best Metropolitan Festival' at the UK Festival Awards. The Seaside Music Festival was an annual rain-or-shine, three-day festival held in Seaside Heights, New Jersey. The festival took place in various restaurants, bars, and other venues in Seaside Heights, New Jersey, featuring performances in various genres by local and touring bands from around the U.S. and the world. There were typically around 120 musical acts that performed at the festival.

El Cantador was an American rock band formed in 2007 in Mobile, Alabama, whose music spans numerous diverse genres, from dance-rock and folk to experimental rock. The band consisted of Heath Underwood, Sean Murphy, and Alex Scharr. They self-released several EPs including their debut Orange EP (2007) and a studio album Fools for Light, released on May 3, 2011.

Ultra Europe is a multi-venue outdoor electronic music festival that is a part of Ultra Music Festival's worldwide expansion, which has now spread to twenty countries. Ultra Europe made its debut as a two-day festival during 12–13 July 2013, and took place in Split, Croatia, with an additional Ultra Beach party in Hvar Island, Croatia on 14 July 2013. In 2015, the festival became a part of Destination Ultra which now lasts seven days in the heart of Dalmatia and includes an opening party, the three-day festival, yacht regatta, Ultra Beach, and a closing party.

NGOM Fest is a music festival established in Prizren, Kosovo. The word "Ngom" is written in Gheg Albanian dialect and it means "Listen to me" whereas the word "Fest" represents the abbreviation of the word "Festival". This Festival originates from a group of young and creative people who are active in the social life of Prizren and Kosovo. The first edition of the festival was held in June 2011 and due to its major success, the activists were more committed in organizing this event. The main objectives of this festival are to promote new bands and artists, build a new perspective for music festivals in Kosovo, and to connect different ethnic groups in Kosovo and in the region.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Sonic Highways World Tour</span> 2014–15 concert tour by the Foo Fighters

Sonic Highways World Tour was a concert tour by American rock band Foo Fighters, in support of their eighth studio album Sonic Highways. It began on December 10, 2014, in Cape Town, South Africa and continued through South America, Oceania, North America, Europe and Asia. The tour abruptly ended after the November 2015 Paris attacks which included the slaughter of fans and crew at a concert by fellow U.S. rock band Eagles of Death Metal. The band were playing in Bologna on the night of the attacks and had been due in Paris after leaving Italy.

Huka Entertainment is a music festival producer and promoter based in New Orleans, LA. Starting with Hangout Music Festival, the company's festivals now include Tortuga Music Festival, BUKU Music + Art Project, and Hell Yes Fest. Huka Entertainment also has a concerts department spanning the southern and eastern coast of the United States. In October 2015, concert industry publication Pollstar listed Huka Entertainment among the top 50 concert promoters worldwide, based on ticket sales.

Ultra Bali is an outdoor electronic music festival that is a part of Ultra Music Festival's worldwide expansion, which has now spread to twenty countries. The debut of Ultra Bali took place during 24–25 September 2015 and was held at the Potato Head Beach Club located in Bali, Indonesia. Ultra Bali is an event strictly for those 19 and over. The most recent edition of Ultra Bali took place once again at the Potato Head Beach Club during 15–16 September 2016.

Carolina Country Music Fest (CCMF) is an outdoor country music festival that takes place in June of each year in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. The festival was founded in 2015 by Charlotte-based company Full House Productions.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Love and Power Tour</span> 2022 concert tour by Halsey

The Love and Power Tour was the fourth headlining concert tour by American singer Halsey, in support of her fourth studio album, If I Can't Have Love, I Want Power (2021). The tour began in West Palm Beach on May 17, 2022, and concluded in São Paulo on November 4, 2023. Halsey announced the tour on January 31, 2022.
