Hansboro is a city in Towner County, North Dakota, United States. The population was 15 at the 2020 census. ^[3]

History

Hansboro was founded in 1905 when the railroad was extended to that point. ^[5] The city was named for Henry C. Hansbrough, a North Dakota legislator. ^[6] A post office was established at Hansboro in 1905, and remained in operation until 1967. ^[7]

According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 0.19 square miles (0.49 km²), all land. ^[8]

As of the census of 2010, there were 12 people, 8 households, and 4 families residing in the city. The population density was 63.2 inhabitants per square mile (24.4/km²). There were 14 housing units at an average density of 73.7 per square mile (28.5/km²). The racial makeup of the city was 100.0% White.

There were 8 households, of which 37.5% were married couples living together, 12.5% had a male householder with no wife present, and 50.0% were non-families. 50.0% of all households were made up of individuals, and 12.5% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 1.50 and the average family size was 2.00.

The median age in the city was 49.5 years. 0.0% of residents were under the age of 18; 8.3% were between the ages of 18 and 24; 33.3% were from 25 to 44; 49.9% were from 45 to 64; and 8.3% were 65 years of age or older. The gender makeup of the city was 58.3% male and 41.7% female.

Climate
