The ISCM World Music Days is an annual contemporary music festival organized by the International Society for Contemporary Music, originally created in 1923 as the ISCM Festival as a means to support the most advanced composition tendencies. [1] [2] Each edition is held in a different location, and the programmes are organized by a jury after evaluating the submissions of each ISCM national section.

Maciej Zielinski is the award-winning Polish composer, arranger and music producer, known for his contemporary classical and film scores, songs and original television music. His contemporary classical music has been awarded at 8 composers’ contests, including two international competitions and it was performed at many international festivals, including the Warsaw Autumn Festival and ISCM World Music Days. He has written scores for popular Polish movies and for independent US productions. The 2015 ISCM World Music Days of the International Society for Contemporary Music were held from 26 September to 2 October 2015 in Slovenia, which had previously hosted the 2003 ISCM World Music Days. Artistic director was again Slovene composer Pavel Mihelčič, who also directs the annual Unicum Contemporary Music Festival. Organized in cooperation with the Society of Slovene Composers, the festival brought together a selection of recently composed music from six continents. In the main programme, about 40 Slovenian compositions with a focus on young Slovenian composers were presented along with 50 foreign compositions.

The 2016 ISCM World Music Days of the International Society for Contemporary Music were held from 29 March to 3 April 2016 in Tongyeong, South Korea. It was the second time for South Korea to host the ISCM World Music Days, following the 1997 ISCM World Music Days in Seoul. With the motto "Sounds of Tomorrow", the festival built on the spirit of world-renowned contemporary classic composer Isang Yun. Mainly organized by the Tongyeong International Music Festival, it brought together a selection of recently composed music from six continents, presented in the new Tongyeong Concert Hall that had been inaugurated in November 2013.

Michael Seltenreich is an Israeli composer of contemporary classical music who resides in New York City. He is the sole Israeli composer to win the Toru Takemitsu Composition Award and a recipient of the Israel Prime Minister Award in Composition. His work Sparks & Flares was the submission of the American chapter of the International Society for Contemporary Music and was chosen for performance at the World Music Days / Beijing Modern Music Festival 2018.
