The Boston Globe wrote that Jones "plays with a steady swinging pulse with lots of variations, fluent single note runs, a sharp accent here, a quick change of pace there, a fanciful twist to the melody line or, on Richard Rodgers' 'You Took Advantage of Me', opening with a glittering quick-fingered Art Tatum solo." [4]
AllMusic stated that "this outing features pianist Hank Jones emphasizing the swing side of his flexible musical personality... A fine set." Time Remembered is a live album by jazz pianist Bill Evans with Chuck Israels and Larry Bunker partially recorded at the Shelly Manne's club in Hollywood, California in May 1963, but not released until 1983 on the Milestone label as a 16-track double LP. It would be later reissued on CD in 1999, with only 13 tracks. The trio performances were recorded at the same sessions that produced At Shelly's Manne-Hole (1963) and were first released on Bill Evans: The Complete Riverside Recordings (1984). The four solo performances were recorded in a separate session in April 1962 in New York City. "Some Other Time" was recorded in December 1958, in New York City.
Remembering is an album by American jazz guitarist Grant Green featuring performances recorded in 1961 but not released until 1980 on the Japanese Blue Note label. Green is supported by bassist Wilbur Ware and drummer Al Harewood. The US CD reissue was released in 1998 and included an alternate take and an additional track recorded at the same sessions.
