Kundli is a town and municipal council in Sonipat, in Sonipat tehsil of Sonipat district in the Indian state of Haryana.

As of 2017, it had a population of 100,000. [2] It lies on Western Peripheral Expressway, Eastern Peripheral Expressway and Delhi-Amritsar NH-1 (presently NH-44). Kundli also lies on the planned Delhi-Sonipat Rapid Regional Rail Transport System (RRTS) and Delhi Metro extension. [3]

Geography

Kundli is 8.604 km from its tehsil headquarters at Rai. Kundli is located 1.6 km (1 mile) north of the Singhu Border, 9.2 km (5.7 miles) southeast of Sonipat city center, 31 km (19.3 miles) northwest of central Delhi and 221 km (137 miles) from its state headquarters Chandigarh. Other villages in Rai Mandal are Akbarpur Barota, Assawarpur, Aurangabad, Badhmalik, Badkhalsa, Bahalgarh, Bazidpur Saboli, Bhaire Bankipur, Bhowapur, Bindhrloi, Chhatehara.

Nearby villages with distance are Sersa (0.936 km), Janti Kalan (3.181 km), Nangal Kalan (3.550 km), Rasoi (3.633 km), Aterna (4.152 km), Bazidpur Saboli (4.209 km), Nathupur (4.536 km).

Industrial Model Township Kundli

Industrial Model Township, Kundli (IMT Kundli) or Kundli Industrial Area, established by the HSIIDC in NCR, is a large Industrial areas of Haryana on the northern border of Delhi adjacent to Narela and it lies south of Sonipat. [2] It is the location of National Institute of Food Technology Entrepreneurship and Management (NIFTEM), an upcoming premier research institute of food science by the union Ministry of Food Processing Industries (MoFPI), [4] Government of India. To its west lie Rajiv Gandhi Education City in Sonipat city and Deenbandhu Chhotu Ram University of Science and Technology in Murthal, and to its east lie the Samaypur Industrial Area at Samaypur, Badli Industrial Area at Badli and Delhi Technological University [5] India. It is also connected by the under implementation Delhi-Sonipat Metro extension of Yellow line to be completed in Phase iV by March 2022. [6] It is part of Amritsar Delhi Kolkata Industrial Corridor (ADKIC) on Eastern Dedicated Freight Corridor (EDFC), that is on track. Dr. B. Ravi Pillai, owner of RP Group and the richest Indian billionaire in Dubai and Middle East which employ over 70,000 employees, offered to CM of Haryana in December 2017 to invest in logistics company in Integrated Multimodel Logistics Hub, Nangal Chaudhary (North India's largest logistics hub) and in Prime Minister's Housing for All (PMAY) low-cost urban housing in 3 Industrial Model Townships (IMT) along Delhi Western Peripheral Expressway in IMT Bahadurgarh, IMT Kundli, Sonipat and IMT Manesar with construction to be completed within 1 year. [7]

Khanda village of Kharkhoda block have a statue of Baba Banda Singh Bahadur which was inaugurated by CM of Haryana Manohar Lal Khattar on Shaurya Diwas celebrated in Khanda, Sonipat.

The Western Peripheral Expressway (WPE) or Kundli–Manesar–Palwal Expressway, is an operational 6-lane, 135.6 km (84.3 mi)-long Expressway in the Haryana state of India. Along with the Eastern Peripheral Expressway, the Western Peripheral Expressway is expected to divert more than 50,000 heavy vehicles away from Delhi, which will help to maintain good air quality in Delhi. Western Peripheral Expressway along with Eastern Peripheral Expressway completes the largest Ring Road around Delhi. There are 10 tolled entries and exits, from north to south - Kundli, Kharkhoda, Bahadurgarh, Badli, Fartukhnagar, Panchgaon, Manesar, Taoru, Sohna & Palwal. Toll rate notified in December 2018 is INR1.35 per km for cars, INR2.18 per km for light motor vehicles, INR4.98 per km for trucks and buses, and two wheelers are not permitted on the expressway.

The Eastern Peripheral Expressway (EPE) or Kundli–Ghaziabad–Palwal Expressway is a 135 km (84 mi) long, 6-lane wide expressway passing through the states of Haryana and Uttar Pradesh in India. The expressway starts from the Western Peripheral Expressway at Kundli, Sonipat, passing through Baghpat, Ghaziabad and Noida districts in UP and Faridabad district in Haryana before rejoining the Western Peripheral Expressway near Dholagarh, Palwal. Eastern Peripheral Expressway along with Western Peripheral Expressway completes the largest Ring Road around Delhi. The Eastern Peripheral Expressway was declared as National Expressway 2 (NE-2) in March 2006.

Narela is a Suburb and a Tehsil of Delhi, located in the North Delhi district of Delhi, close to the border of Haryana. Narela is a part of North Delhi. It is 30 km away from the city centre of New Delhi.

Samaypur is an urban village in North Delhi prominently located with NH-1 on one side and Badli Railway Station & Samaypur Badli Metro Station on the other.

Jasaur Kheri is a large village located, near Jhajjar city in Jhajjar District of Indian state of Haryana. It is located on Jhajjar-Bahadurgarh-Sonipat road; it is about 15 kilometres (9 mi) from nearest city Bahadurgarh and about 36 km from Jhajjar city, the district headquarter.↵The village is famous for its ancient Mata Chandraghanta Devi temple. Every year villagers organise a big 'Jagrata' on the eve of Ashtami in Navaratras, followed by Bhandara in morning. Village also has its own stadium and akhara, where boys work on their physique and improve wrestling skills. In past, village used to be known as village of wrestlers. Most of the people living here, work in government departments located in Delhi. It is 40 km (25 mi) from National Capital New Delhi and can be reached by both train or road. Village is developing on good pace. It might possible it become the well known place of Haryana in future.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Delhi–Amritsar–Katra Expressway</span> Indian expressway connecting Delhi with Katra in J&K

Delhi–Amritsar–Katra Expressway is an approved 670 km (420 mi) long, 4-lane wide controlled-access expressway, which will connect Bahadurgarh border near Delhi with Katra in Jammu and Kashmir via Haryana and Punjab. It will have a spur section which will connect Nakodar with Sri Guru Ram Das Ji International Airport located in Raja Sansi, Amritsar. The 397.7 km (247.1 mi) long Delhi–Katra Expressway is National Expressway 5(NE-5) and 99 km (62 mi) long Nakodar-Amritsar Expressway is National Expressway 5A(NE-5A). Once completed, it will reduce the current Delhi-Katra distance from 727 km (452 mi) to 588 km (365 mi) and the time travel will be reduced from 14 hours to 6 hours, and Delhi-Amritsar distance to 405 km (252 mi) and from the time travel will be reduced from 8 hours to only 4 hours.

Delhi–Jaipur Highway or NH48 is a 242-kilometre-long (150 mi), eight-lane, Highway, connecting Delhi with Jaipur in India. It starts from Kherki Toll Plaza in Gurugram and terminate near Daulatpura Toll Plaza at Jaipur.

Haryana State Industrial and Infrastructure Development Corporation (HSIIDC), formerly Haryana State Industrial Development Corporation (HSIDC), headquartered at Panchkula, is a 100% state-owned agency of the government of Haryana in the Indian state of Haryana. For ease of doing business, Haryana is the first state in India to introduce a labour policy in 2005 and Land Pooling Policy in 2017, for which HSIIDC acts as the nodal agency. Haryana Financial Corporation provides financial assistance for setting up new industrial units and for the expansion and diversification of the existing industries. The Trans-Haryana Expressway or the Ambala–Narnaul Expressway (NH-152D) is a 227-km long, 6-lane wide greenfield access-controlled expressway, connecting the cities of Ambala and Narnaul in the state of Haryana. The expressway connects Gangheri village in Kurukshetra district with Surana village on Narnaul Bypass (NH-148B) in Mahendragarh district. It passes via Kaul, Pundri, Assandh, Dhatrath, Kalanaur, Charkhi Dadri and Kanina. It will reduce the distance from Chandigarh to Delhi, Narnaul, and Jaipur, thus decongesting NH-44 and NH-48.

Haryana Orbital Rail Corridor (HORC), with target completion by 31 March 2025, is an under construction twin-track 121.7-kilometre (75.6 mi)-km long, 160 km per hour high-speed, railway project in Haryana state of India, which will run around along the Western Peripheral Expressway (WPE) on the western side of Delhi.
