Kwahu Afram Plains North District is one of the thirty-three districts in Eastern Region, Ghana. [1] [2] [3] [4] Originally it was formerly part of the then-larger Kwahu North District in 1988 (later known as Afram Plains District), until the western part of the district was split off to create Kwahu Afram Plains South District on 19 June 2012; thus the remaining part has been renamed as Kwahu Afram Plains North District. The Districts of Ghana are second-level administrative subdivisions of Ghana, below the level of region. There are currently 261 local metropolitan, municipal and district assemblies.
The Eastern Region is located in the Eastern part of Ghana and is one of the sixteen administrative regions of Ghana. Eastern region is bordered to the east by the Lake Volta, to the north by Bono East Region and Ashanti region, to the west by Ashanti region, to the south by Central region and Greater Accra Region. Akans are the dominant inhabitants and natives of Eastern region and Akan, Ewe, Krobo, Hausa and English are the main spoken languages. The capital town of Eastern Region is Koforidua.The Eastern region is the location of the Akosombo dam and the economy of the Eastern region is dominated by its high-capacity electricity generation. Eastern region covers an area of 19,323 square kilometres, which is about 8.1% of Ghana's total landform.

Afram Plains District is a former district that was located in Eastern Region, Ghana. Originally created as an ordinary district assembly in 1988 when it was known as Kwahu North District, which was created from the former Kwahu District Council, until it was later renamed to become Afram Plains District in 1993. However on 19 June 2012, it was split off into two new districts: Kwahu Afram Plains North District and Kwahu Afram Plains South District. The district assembly was located in the northern part of Eastern Region and had Donkorkrom as its capital town.

Originally it was formerly part of the then-larger and first Akuapim South District in 1988, which it was created from the former Akuapim District Council; until it was elevated to municipal district assembly status to become Akuapim South Municipal District, with Nsawam as its capital town. However on 6 February 2012, the northeast part of the district was split off to create a new Akuapim South District, with Aburi as its capital town; thus the remaining part has been renamed as Nsawam Adoagyire Municipal District, with Nsawam as its capital town. The district assembly is located in the southeast part of Eastern Region and has Aburi as its capital town.

Originally it was formerly part of the then-larger Sekyere East District, which was created from the former Sekyere District Council. Later, a large portion of the district was split off to create the 1st Sekyere Afram Plains District on 1 November 2007, with Kumawu as its capital town. However, on 28 June 2012, the Afram Plains area of the district was split off to create the new Sekyere Afram Plains District, with Dobrosno as its capital town; while the remaining part has since then been officially renamed as Sekyere Kumawu District, with Kumawu as its capital town. The district assembly is located in the eastern part of Ashanti Region and has Drobosno as its capital town.
Afram Plains is in the Eastern region of Ghana and is divided into Kwahu Afram Plains North and Kwahu Afram Plains South Constituencies. The current member of Parliament for the Kwahu Afram Plains North constituency is Betty Nana Efua Krosby Mensah. She succeeded Emmanuel Aboagye Didieye. Joseph Appiah Boateng is also the current Member of Parliament for the Kwahu Afram Plains South.

The district assembly is located in the southern part of Eastern Region and has Coaltar as its capital town.
Denkyembour District is one of the thirty-three districts in Eastern Region, Ghana. Originally it was formerly part of the then-larger Kwaebibirem District in 1988, which was created from the former West Akim District Council. However on 6 February 2012, the southern part of the district was split off to create Denkyembour District; thus the remaining part has been retained as Kwaebibirem District, which it was elevated to municipal district assembly status on 15 March 2018 to become Kwaebibirem Municipal District. The district assembly is located in the southern part of Eastern Region and has Akwatia as its capital town.

Ga North Municipal District is one of the twenty-nine districts in Greater Accra Region, Ghana. Originally it was formerly part of the then-larger Ga West District in 2004, until the eastern part of the district was split off to create Ga North Municipal District on 15 March 2018, which was supported by Legislative Instrument (L.I.) 2314; thus the remaining part has been retained as Ga West Municipal District. The municipality is located in the western part of Greater Accra Region and has Ofankor as its capital town.
