Kwahu Afram Plains North District is one of the thirty-three districts in Eastern Region, Ghana. [1] [2] [3] [4] Originally it was formerly part of the then-larger Kwahu North District in 1988 (later known as Afram Plains District), until part of the district was split off create Kwahu Afram Plains South District on 15 March 2018; thus the remaining original part was renamed as Kwahu Afram Plains North District. The district assembly is located in the northern part of Eastern Region and has Donkorkrom as its capital town.

The Districts of Ghana are second-level administrative subdivisions of Ghana, below the level of region. There are 260 districts.

Eastern Region (Ghana) Region of Ghana

The Eastern Region is located in south Ghana and is one of the sixteen administrative regions of Ghana. Eastern region is bordered to the east by the Lake Volta, to the north by Bono East Region and Ashanti region, to the west by Ashanti region, to the south by Central region and Greater Accra Region. Akans are the dominant inhabitants and natives of Eastern region and Akan, Ewe, Krobo, Hausa and English are the main spoken languages. The capital town of Eastern Region is Koforidua.The Eastern region is the location of the Akosombo dam and the economy of the Eastern region is dominated by its high-capacity electricity generation. Eastern region covers an area of 19,323 square kilometres, which is about 8.1% of Ghana's total landform.

Afram Plains District

Afram Plains District is a former district that was located in Eastern Region, Ghana. Originally created as an ordinary district assembly in 1988 when it was known as Kwahu North District; which it was later renamed as Afram Plains District in 1993. However on March 15, 2018, it was split out into two new districts: Kwahu Afram Plains North District and Kwahu Afram Plains South District. The district assembly was located in the northern part of Eastern Region and had Donkorkrom as its capital town.

Afram Plains North (Ghana parliament constituency)

Afram Plains is in the Eastern region of Ghana and is divided into Kwahu Afram Plains North and Kwahu Afram Plains South Constituencies. The current member of Parliament for the Kwahu Afram Plains North constituency is Betty Nana Efua Krosby Mensah. She succeeded Emmanuel Aboagye Didieye. Joseph Appiah Boateng is also the current Member of Parliament for the Kwahu Afram Plains South.

Sekyere Kumawu (district) District in Ghana

Sekyere Kumawu District is one of the forty-three districts in Ashanti Region, Ghana. Originally it was part of the then-larger Sekyere East District until 1 November 2007 ; when a large portion of the district was created to become Sekyere Afram Plains District, with Kumawu as its capital town. Later on 28 June 2012, the Afram Plains area of the district has split off to become the new Sekyere Afram Plains District; while the remaining part was renamed as Sekyere Kumawu District. The district assembly is the eastern part of Ashanti Region and has Kumawu as its capital town.

Asutifi North District is one of the six districts in Ahafo Region, Ghana. Originally created as an ordinary district assembly in 1988 when it was known as Asutifi District. Later, part of the district was split off to create Asutifi South District in 2012; thus the remaining original part was renamed as Asutifi North District. The district assembly is located in the eastern part of Ahafo Region and has Kenyasi as its capital town.

Asutifi South District is one of the six districts in Ahafo Region, Ghana. It was formerly part of the then-larger and original Asutifi District in 1988, until part of the district was split off create Asutifi South District in 2012; thus the remaining original part was renamed as Asutifi North District. The district assembly is located in the eastern part of Ahafo Region and has Hwidiem as its capital town.

Sene East (district) District in Bono East, Ghana

Sene East District is one of the eleven (11) districts in Bono East Region, Ghana. It was formerly part of the then-larger and original Sene District in 1988, until part of the district was split off create Sene East District in 2012; thus the remaining original part was renamed as Sene West District. The district assembly is located in the eastern part of Bono East Region and has Kajaji as its capital town.

Ayensuano District is one of the thirty-three districts in Eastern Region, Ghana. Originally it was part of a then-larger Suhum-Kraboa-Coaltar District in 1988, until part of the district was split off create Ayensuano District on 28 June 2012; thus the remaining original part was renamed as Suhum Municipal District. The district assembly is located in the southern part of Eastern Region and has Coaltar as its capital town.

Denkyembour District in Ghana

Denkyembour District is one of the thirty-three (33) districts in Eastern Region, Ghana. It was originally part of the then-larger Kwaebibirem District in 1988, which it came from its former predecessor known as West Akim District Council. Later on 6 February 2012, part of the district was split off to become Denkyembour District. The district assembly is located in the southwest part of Eastern Region and has Akwatia as its capital town.

The municipality is located in the western part of Greater Accra Region and has Amamorley as its capital town.

Suhum Municipal District Municipal District in Eastern Region

Suhum Municipal District is one of the thirty-three (33) districts in Eastern Region, Ghana. Originally created as an ordinary district assembly as Suhum-Kraboa-Coaltar District in 1988, until part of the district was split off create Ayensuano District on 28 June 2012; thus the remaining original part was renamed as Suhum Municipal District, which also was upgraded into municipal district assembly status in that same year. The municipality is located in the southern part of Eastern Region and has Suhum as its capital town.
