The Prince Charles Mountains are a major group of mountains in Mac. Robertson Land in Antarctica, including the Athos Range, the Porthos Range, and the Aramis Range. The highest peak is Mount Menzies, with a height of 3,228 m (10,591 ft). Other prominent peaks are Mount Izabelle and Mount Stinear. These mountains, together with other scattered peaks, form an arc about 420 km (260 mi) long, extending from the vicinity of Mount Starlight in the north to Goodspeed Nunataks in the south.

On the continent of Antarctica, the Aramis Range is the third range south in the Prince Charles Mountains, situated 11 miles southeast of the Porthos Range and extending for about 30 miles in a southwest–northeast direction. It was first visited in January 1957 by Australian National Antarctic Research Expeditions (ANARE) southern party led by W.G. Bewsher, who named it for a character in Alexandre Dumas' novel The Three Musketeers, the most popular book read on the southern journey.

Dickson Icefalls are north-draining icefalls of moderate slope at an elevation of 1,800 to 2,000 metres, located between Mount Moulton and Mount Bursey in the Flood Range of Marie Byrd Land. They were mapped by the United States Geological Survey from surveys and U.S. Navy air photos, 1959–65, and were named by the Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names for Donald T. Dickson, a United States Antarctic Research Program glaciologist with the Byrd Station Traverse of 1962–63.

Fleece Glacier is a tributary glacier that enters Leppard Glacier on its north side about 1.5 nautical miles (3 km) east of Moider Peak, on the east side of Graham Land, Antarctica. The toponym is one in a group applied in the vicinity by the UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee that reflects a whaling theme, Fleece being the cook aboard the Pequod in Herman Melville's Moby-Dick.

Hotine Glacier is a glacier 10 nautical miles (19 km) long which is divided at its mouth by Mount Cloos, flowing west into both Deloncle Bay and Girard Bay on Kyiv Peninsula, on the west coast of Graham Land, Antarctica. It was first charted by the Belgian Antarctic Expedition under Gerlache, 1897–99, and was named by the UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee in 1959 for Brigadier Martin Hotine, Director of Overseas Surveys.

German submarine U-2503 was a Type XXI U-boat of Nazi Germany's Kriegsmarine, built for service in World War II. She was ordered on 6 November 1943, and was laid down on 2 May 1944 at the Blohm & Voss, Hamburg, as yard number 2503. She was launched on 29 June 1944, and commissioned under the command of Oberleutnant zur See Raimund Tiesler on 1 August 1944.
