The Lightning Car Company is a British sports car developer, originally based in Fulham and Peterborough, the company relocated to Coventry and is focused on the development and production of high performance electric sports cars.
As of August, 2020, the company's web site has not been substantially updated since 2019.
The firm's first product, the eponymous Lightning GT, was unveiled in 2008 where it won Car of The Show at the last Excel London Motor Show. 60 miles per hour (97 km/h) in less than 4 seconds and has an expected usable range of 150 miles (240 km) on a single battery charge, with a range extender battery pack option increasing this to 225 miles (360 km).It is loosely based on an extant internal-combustion vehicle from Ronart Cars. The company was taking orders for 2012 delivery, this was later moved back to 2014, and subsequently 2017. The prototype was displayed at the Coventry Motofest, featuring a revised Magtec power train.The cars have been shown since in London at the London Motor Show in 2016,in Suffolk and in Paris in 2019 where it was demonstrated.

A plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) is a hybrid electric vehicle whose battery can be recharged by plugging a charging cable into an external electric power source, in addition to internally by its on-board internal combustion engine-powered generator. The Wrightspeed X1 is a one-off Ariel Atom heavily modified to use an all-electric powertrain. The Atom was chosen for its light weight and efficient design. The electric motor and inverter are sourced from AC Propulsion, makers of the TZero concept car, while the batteries are low weight, high energy density lithium ion provided from A123 Systems. As with the Atom the transmission is a Honda unit, but stripped of its shifting mechanism and other parts to provide only the second gear speed, allowed by the wide speed and torque range available from the electric motor.

Artega Automobil GmbH & Co. KG is a German sports car manufacturer based in Delbrück, Germany. Founded by Klaus Dieter Frers in 2006, the company's first product was a mid-engined sports coupé released in 2007. In early 2010, a private equity and venture capital firm that already held a stake in Artega took full control. Artega filed for bankruptcy in July 2012. It was reacquired by a company under Frers' control that same year and eventually resumed production, specializing in electric vehicles.

Mercedes-Benz EQ is a series of battery electric vehicles manufactured by Mercedes-Benz. The first model was previewed at the Paris Motor Show in 2016 with the Generation EQ concept vehicle. Mercedes-Benz intends to produce ten EQ models by 2022, three of which will have the Smart brand, representing between 15% and 25% of the company's global sales. All of Mercedes-Benz electric vehicle design and production efforts will target the EQ family.
The Ford Mustang Mach-E is a five-door electric compact crossover SUV produced by Ford. The vehicle was introduced on November 17, 2019, and went on sale in December 2020 as a 2021 model. The car won the 2021 North American SUV of the Year Award.
