Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology, commonly known by the acronym BUET, is a public technological research university in Dhaka, Bangladesh. Founded in 1876 as the Dacca Survey School and gained university status in 1962, it is the oldest institution for the study of engineering, architecture, and urban planning in Bangladesh.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Jahangirnagar University</span> Public university in Bangladesh

Jahangirnagar University is a public research university located in Savar, Dhaka, Bangladesh. It was established in 1970 by the Jahangirnagar Muslim University Ordinance of the Pakistani Government, which was amended after the independence of Bangladesh to form Jahangirnagar University. It is one of the four autonomous universities by the act of universities in Bangladesh.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Ahsanullah University of Science and Technology</span> University in Dhaka, Bangladesh

Ahsanullah University of Science and Technology, commonly known as AUST, is a private university in Bangladesh. It was founded by the Dhaka Ahsania Mission in 1995.

Mohammed Abu Naser was a Bangladeshi educator. He was the 2nd vice-chancellor of Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET). He is a recipient of the Ekushey Padak, one of the highest civilian awards in Bangladesh.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Emajuddin Ahamed</span> Bangladeshi educationist (1933–2020)

Emajuddin Ahamed was a Bangladeshi political scientist, author and educationist. He served as the 21st vice-chancellor of the University of Dhaka during 1992–1996. He was awarded Ekushey Padak in 1992 by the Government of Bangladesh in the education category.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Jamilur Reza Choudhury</span> Bangladeshi civil engineer (1942–2020)

Dr. Jamilur Reza Choudhury was a Bangladeshi civil engineer, professor, researcher, and education advocate. He was an Adviser (Minister) to Caretaker Government of Bangladesh. He was the first vice chancellor of BRAC University and former vice chancellor of University of Asia Pacific. He was also the president of Bangladesh Mathematical Olympiad Committee from 2003. He was awarded Ekushey Padak by the Government of Bangladesh in the category of science and technology in 2017. He was inducted as a National Professor by the Government of Bangladesh in 2018.

Kamrul Ahsan is a Bangladeshi diplomat. He is currently serving as his country's Ambassador to the Russian Federation. He is also concurrently accredited as the Ambassador of Bangladesh to the Republic of Belarus and Kazakhstan. Before joining in his position in Moscow, he served as Secretary for Bilateral and Consular Affairs in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bangladesh.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Khaleda Ekram</span> Bangladeshi academic (1950–2016)

Khaleda Ekram was a Bangladeshi architect, professor, researcher, and academician. She served as the 12th vice-chancellor of Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET). She was the former dean of the faculty of architecture and planning and head of the department of architecture at BUET. She was the first woman to be appointed as the vice-chancellor of BUET. She held the position from September 2014 until her death in May 2016.

Iqbal Mahmud is a Bangladeshi educator. He served as the 7th vice-chancellor of Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET). And he is a former vice-chancellor of Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET). He was awarded Ekushey Padak in 2005 by the Government of Bangladesh for his contribution to education.

M. A. Rashid was a Bangladeshi educator. He served as the 1st Vice-chancellor of Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology during 1962–1970. He was awarded Independence Day Award in 1982 by the Government of Bangladesh.

Wakil Ahmed is a Bangladeshi academic who served as the vice-chancellor of Bangladesh National University from July 2005 until December 2007. He is the former president of the Bangla Academy and the Asiatic Society of Bangladesh. He was awarded Ekushey Padak in 2004 by the Government of Bangladesh for his research contribution.

S. M. Nazrul Islam is a Bangladeshi academic. He served as the 11th Vice-chancellor of Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET).

Mohammad Rezwan Khan is a Bangladeshi academic and former vice-chancellor of United International University. He is a Fellow at Bangladesh Academy of Sciences.

Abdul Karim was a Bangladeshi historian. He served as the 5th Vice-Chancellor of the University of Chittagong. He was awarded Ekushey Padak in 1995 by the Government of Bangladesh.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Rabiul Hussain</span> Bangladeshi poet and architect (1943–2019)

Rabiul Hussain was a Bangladeshi poet and architect. He was one of the trustees of the Bangladesh Liberation War Museum. He was awarded Bangla Academy Literary Award in 2009 for poetry. In recognition of his contribution to Bengali language and literature, the government of Bangladesh awarded him the country's second highest civilian award Ekushey Padak in 2018.

Md. Habibur Rahman is a Bangladeshi academic and vice-chancellor of Dhaka University of Engineering & Technology, Gazipur. He is the former chairman of the Dhaka Water Supply and Sewerage Authority. He is a professor of Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology.
