Notes

There are numerous minor inconsistencies in transliteration among the sources. Greater discrepancies are as follows:

  1. 1 2 Although Gazdar lists Azaan as a Bengali film made in East Pakistan in 1962, neither Kabir nor Shikdar include it or the director.
  2. Neither Kabir nor Gazdar mention Sharafi, but present-day news articles credit him as co-director.
  3. Gazdar dates the film he transliterates as Suraj Ashnan to 1961, but Kabir, Raju, [8] and Shikdar, [9] date it to 1962.

She has been nominated for Nigar awards several times, winning it 13 times. She has appeared in over 150 films films. She was a leading actress in the Pakistani film industry for 28 years.

Kohinoor Akhter is a Bangladeshi film actress and director. She started her career in the mid 1960s and acted in about 100 movies. She won Bangladesh National Film Award for Best Director for the film Hajar Bachhor Dhore (2005) and Bangladesh National Film Award for Lifetime Achievement (2019).

Khan Ataur Rahman was a Bangladeshi film actor, director, producer, screenplay writer, music composer, and singer, best known for his role in the film Jibon Theke Neya (1970). He received the Bangladesh National Film Award for Best Screenplay for the films Sujon Sokhi (1975) and Danpite Chhele (1980). He was awarded Ekushey Padak posthumously in 2003 by the Government of Bangladesh.

Subhash Dutta was a Bangladeshi filmmaker, theater and film actor. He started his career as a commercial artist.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Anwar Hossain (actor)</span> Bangladeshi actor (1931–2013)

Anwar Hossain was a Bangladeshi actor, best known for playing the role of Siraj ud-Daulah in the Bengali film Nawab Sirajuddaula (1967). He appeared in nearly 500 movies in his 50-year career. He is often referred as The Uncrowned Nawab of Bengali films. He received the Bangladesh National Film Award for Best Actor for his role in the film Lathial (1975) and Best Supporting Actor awards for the films again for Golapi Ekhon Traine (1978) and Dayi Ke? (1987).

Abu Nur Muhammad Ehteshamul Haq, known as Captain Ehtesham, was a Bangladeshi and Pakistani film director. On his death in 2002 he was described as a pioneer of the film industry in Dhaka, and one of Bangladesh's leading directors.

Fateh Lohani was a Bangladeshi actor, film director, writer and journalist.

Salahuddin was a Bangladeshi filmmaker.

Mohiuddin Ahmad is a Bangladeshi film director, writer and producer. In 1982, he won the Bangladesh National Film Award for Best Director for the film Boro Bhalo Lok Chhilo and in 1991 he won Bangladesh National Film Award for Best Story for the film Padma Meghna Jamuna.

Kamal Ahmed is a Bangladeshi film director and actor. He won the Bangladesh National Film Award for Best Director twice, for the films Lalu Bhulu (1983) and Goriber Bou (1990).
