2022 saw the release of numerous notable films that were originally scheduled for release in 2020 or 2021, but were postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, releasing theatrically, on video on demand or on streaming services.

Mamnun Hasan Emon is a Bangladeshi film actor and model. He made his debut with the 2007 film Daruchini Dip starring Riaz, Momo and Bindu. He is addressed as "King of Dhallywood" and "Superstar" and "Film Star" in the media.
Nasrin Akter Nipun, known by her stage name as Nipun is a Bangladeshi film actress. She was the former general secretary of Bangladesh Film Artistes Association, the organisation of local film artists. She won the National Film Awards twice - Best Actress for Shajghor (2007) and Best Supporting Actress for Chander Moto Bou (2009). As of 2014, she has acted in a total of 35 films including Pitar Ason, Rickshawalar Prem, Praner Shami, and Porichoi.
Shahid Hasan, known by professionally as Misha Sawdagor, is a Bangladeshi film actor known for playing villains. As of 2020, according to him, he has performed in more than 700 films. He won Bangladesh National Film Awards 3 times for his roles in the films Boss Number One (2011), Olpo Olpo Premer Golpo (2014) and Bir (2020). He first got noticed as a villain in the 1995 film Asha Bhalobasha starring Salman Shah. After Shah's death, he continued playing the villain opposite other actors, but failed to achieve any mainstream success or recognition. From 2006 onwards he started playing the main antagonist in a long string of hit movies starring Shakib Khan in the lead role and mostly Apu Biswas as the lead actress, and established himself as a leading antagonist in the Cinema of Bangladesh.
Shahenshah is a 2020 Bangladeshi action romantic drama film directed by Shamim Ahamed Roni. The film stars Shakib Khan, Nusrat Faria and Rodela Jannat in the lead roles. The cast also includes Misha Sawdagor, Ahmed Sharif, Amit Hasan, Shiba Shanu, and Don in supporting roles. Shapla Media produced the film.
Syed Salahuddin Zaki was a Bangladeshi film director, producer and film writer. He won the Bangladesh National Film Award for Best Dialogue for the film Ghuddi (1980). He was awarded Ekushey Padak in 2021. Zaki died in Dhaka on 18 September 2023, at the age of 77.
Shah Riaz is a Bangladeshi actor and model. He acted in Pagla Diwana (2015), opposite to Pori Moni and in Nagar Mastan (2015) with Pori Moni. And he also acted in Gundami (2016) and Aaral (2016) with the actress Achol; starred in many others, as Shooter (2016), Meyeti Ekhon Kothay Jabe (2017), Crime Road (2017), Chol Palai (2017), Fifty Fifty Love (2018), Bou Bazar (2019), and Protishodher Agun (2019).
Gohiner Gaan is a 2019 Bangladeshi musical film. The film written and directed by Sadat Hossain and produced by Enamul Haque under the banner of Bangladhol. The film stars Asif Akbar and Toma Mirza played lead roles and Syed Hasan Imam, Tanzika Amin, Aman Reza and Quazi Asif Rahman played supporting roles in the film. It is the first feature musical film of Bangladesh.
Poran is a 2022 Bangladeshi romantic thriller film directed by Raihan Rafi and produced by Md Tamzid Ul Alam under his production banner Live Technologies. Inspired from true events, the film features Bidya Sinha Saha Mim, Sariful Razz, and Yash Rohan in lead roles.
Leader: Amie Bangladesh is a 2023 Bangladeshi political thriller film. The directed by Topu Khan and produced by Syed Ashik Rahman under the banner of Bengal Multimedia. It revolves around Nafees Iqbal, a conscious young man embarked on a transformative journey to rid society of corruption and the misuse of political power, featuring Shabnom Bubly, Misha Sawdagor, Shahiduzzaman Selim in the lead roles. It is the last film of Shakib Khan and Shabnom Bubly as a Duo.
Elina Shammi is a Bangladeshi model, presenter and actress. She made her debut in Shah Alam Kiron's '71 Er Ma Jononi in 2014. Known for her role in the highest grossing Bangladeshi film of all time Priyotoma and Mujib: The Making of a Nation, where she portrayed as Khaleda Zia, the former prime minister of Bangladesh.
Lal Shari is a 2023 Bangladeshi romantic drama film directed and written by Bandhan Biswas and produced by Apu Biswas under the banner of Apu–Joy Cholochitra. The film stars Symon Sadik, Apu Biswas, Sumit Sengupta, Dilruba Doyel, Shahiduzzaman Selim, Shahed Ali, Mahmudul Islam Mithu, Subrata, and Don. It marked Apu Biswas' debut as producer.
Aam Kathaler Chhuti is a 2023 Bengali-language Bangladeshi children's film. It is produced, directed, screenplay, dialogue writing, cinematography, editing and sound design by Mohammad Nuruzzaman. It is based on the short story Mainna Bhai Balla Rashi by Shorif Uddin Shobuj. This film is made in the atmosphere of the past life as the children and teenagers passed their childhood and adolescence in the seventies, eighties and mid-nineties. The international version of the film is titled Summer Holiday.
