This is a list of Bangladeshi films that were scheduled to release in 2021. Some films have announced release dates but have yet to begin filming, while others are in production but do not yet have definite release dates. Films listed as "untitled" do not yet have publicly announced titles.

2021 saw the release of numerous notable films that were originally scheduled for release in 2020, but were postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, releasing theatrically, on video on demand or on streaming services.

<i>Kingsman</i> (franchise) British action media franchise

Kingsman is a British multimedia franchise consisting of spy comic books, films, and video games that follow the missions of Agent Galahad of Kingsman, a fictional secret service organization. The franchise is based on the comic book series created by Mark Millar and Dave Gibbons, a 2012 Marvel Comics release set in the Millarworld shared universe which is based on a concept by Millar and Matthew Vaughn. It has garnered success both financially and critically.

The Australian cricket team were scheduled to tour Bangladesh in June 2020 to play two Test matches. The Test series would have formed part of the inaugural 2019–2021 ICC World Test Championship. In September 2019, the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) and Cricket Australia confirmed that the series would go ahead.

The 2021 Women's Cricket World Cup Qualifier was an international women's cricket tournament that was held in Zimbabwe in November and December 2021. The tournament was the final part of the qualification process for the 2022 Women's Cricket World Cup. All of the regional qualification tournaments used the Women's Twenty20 International format. The tournament was the fifth edition of the World Cup Qualifier, with the fixtures played as 50 overs matches. Originally, the top three teams from the qualifier would have progressed to the 2022 Women's Cricket World Cup in New Zealand. The top three teams, along with the next two best placed teams, also qualified for the next cycle of the ICC Women's Championship.

The Mujib 100 T20 Cup Bangladesh 2020 was a two-match Twenty20 International T20I series, that was to be hosted by the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB). The two matches were scheduled to be played between an Asia XI and a World XI teams in March 2020. The matches would have celebrated the birth centenary of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the founder of Bangladesh. The International Cricket Council (ICC) granted full international status to the two fixtures. On 25 February 2020, the BCB named two tentative squads for the fixtures. However, on 11 March 2020, the matches were "deferred until further notice" due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Bangladesh cricket team toured Sri Lanka in April and May 2021 to play two Test matches. The Test series formed part of the inaugural 2019–2021 ICC World Test Championship.

Swatta is a 2017 Bangladeshi romantic tragedy film. The film directed by Hashibur Reza Kallol and produced by Sohani Hossain under the banner of Taranga Entertainment. It is a story written by Sohani Hossain and a screenplay and dialogue written by Ferdous Hassan. The film features Bangladeshi superstar Shakib Khan and Paoli Dam in the lead roles and Kabila, Nasreen, Rina Khan, Don and many have played supporting roles in the film.

The Bangladesh cricket team toured New Zealand in March and April 2021 to play three Twenty20 International (T20I) and three One Day International (ODI) matches. Originally, the tour was scheduled to take place in October 2020, ahead of the then scheduled ICC Men's T20 World Cup. In August 2020, New Zealand Cricket confirmed that the tour was going ahead, and were working with their government to comply with biosecurity during the COVID-19 pandemic. On 29 September 2020, New Zealand Cricket confirmed the schedule against Bangladesh. The ODI matches formed part of the inaugural 2020–2023 ICC Cricket World Cup Super League.

Due to cinemas and movie theaters closing, the global box office dropped by billions of dollars, streaming saw a significant increase in popularity, and the stock of film exhibitors dropped dramatically. Many blockbusters originally scheduled to be released by mid-March 2020 were postponed or canceled around the world, with film productions also being halted. This in turn created openings for independent cinema productions to receive wider exposure.

The West Indies cricket team toured Bangladesh in January and February 2021 to play two Tests and three One Day International (ODI) matches. The Test series formed part of the inaugural 2019–2021 ICC World Test Championship and the ODI series formed part of the inaugural 2020–2023 ICC Cricket World Cup Super League.

The 2023 Asia Cup was the 16th edition of the men's Asia Cup cricket tournament. The matches were played as One Day Internationals (ODIs) with Pakistan as the official host. It was held in Pakistan and Sri Lanka, between 30 August to 17 September 2023. It was the first Asia Cup to be held in multiple countries, with four matches played in Pakistan and the remaining nine matches played in Sri Lanka. The tournament was contested by 6 teams. Sri Lanka were the defending champions.
