This is a list of administrators and governors of Enugu State. Enugu State was formed on 27 August 1991 when it was split from Anambra State.

Enugu State is a state in the South-East geopolitical zone of Nigeria, bordered to the north by the states of Benue and Kogi, Ebonyi State to the east and southeast, Abia State to the south, and Anambra State to the west. The state takes its name from its capital and largest city, Enugu. The city acquired township status in 1917 and was called Enugwu-Ngwo. Due to the rapid expansion towards areas owned by other indigenous communities, it was renamed Enugu in 1928.

Navy Captain Joseph Abulu was the first Military Administrator of Anambra State in Nigeria from 27 August 1991 to 1 January 1992 after the Enugu State had been split from the old Anambra during the military regime of General Ibrahim Babangida.

Lt. Colonel Herbert Obi-Eze was appointed Military Administrator of Anambra State in Nigeria in August 1990 during the military regime of General Ibrahim Babangida. During his tenure, Enugu State was split off from Anambra on 27 August 1991, with Obi-Eze continuing as governor of Enugu State. He handed over power to the elected civilian governor of Enugu State, Okwesilieze Nwodo in January 1992.

The 2023 Enugu State gubernatorial election will take place on 18 March 2023, to elect the Governor of Enugu State, concurrent with elections to the Enugu State House of Assembly as well as twenty-seven other gubernatorial elections and elections to all other state houses of assembly. The election—which was postponed from its original 11 March date—will be held three weeks after the presidential election and National Assembly elections. Incumbent PDP Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi is term-limited and cannot seek re-election to a third term.
