This is a ranking of highest domestic net collection of Hindi films, which includes films in the Hindi language, based on the conservative global box office estimates as reported by industry sources. However, there is no official tracking of figures, and sources publishing data are frequently pressured to increase their estimates. [1]
Indian films have been screened in markets around the world since the early 20th century. [2] As of 2003 [update] , there are markets in over 90 countries where films from India are screened. [3] During the first decade of the 21st century, there was a steady rise in the ticket price, a tripling in the number of theaters and an increase in the number of prints of a film being released, which led to a large increase in box office collections for major films. [4]
The figures listed below are not adjusted for inflation.

Om Shanti Om is a 2007 Indian romantic fantasy film written and directed by Farah Khan, co-written by Mayur Puri and Mushtaq Shiekh, and produced by Gauri Khan under Red Chillies Entertainment. The film stars Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone, Shreyas Talpade, Kirron Kher, and Arjun Rampal. The story follows Om Prakash Makhija (Khan), an obscure 1970s actor, who dies in a suspicious on-set fire involving his crush, well-known yesteryears superstar Shanti Priya (Padukone), and is reincarnated in the present day as superstar Om Kapoor, seeking to exact revenge on the perpretrator, Shanti's husband and powerful producer Mukesh Mehra (Rampal).
Once Upon a Time in Mumbaai is a 2010 Indian Hindi-language neo-noir crime thriller film written by Rajat Arora and directed by Milan Luthria. It stars Ajay Devgn, Emraan Hashmi, Kangana Ranaut, Prachi Desai and Randeep Hooda. Produced by Ekta Kapoor under the Balaji Motion Pictures banner, Once Upon A Time in Mumbaai was released on 30 July 2010 to generally positive reviews from critics, and was a box office hit. The film is loosely based on the lives of Mumbai underworld gangsters Haji Mastan and Dawood Ibrahim. A sequel, Once Upon ay Time in Mumbai Dobaara!, was released in 2013.
Murder 2 is a 2011 Indian Hindi-language psychological crime thriller film and the second installment in the Murder film series. A quasi-sequel to the 2004 film, Murder, it stars Emraan Hashmi, Jacqueline Fernandez and Prashant Narayanan, and features Sulagna Panigrahi as a debutant. Directed by Mohit Suri and produced by Mukesh Bhatt, the film was released on 8 July 2011 and became one of the highest grossing Bollywood films of 2011. The film is alleged to be based on the 2008 South Korean film The Chaser, though Bhatt denied this and said that it was inspired from the 2006 Nithari killings in Noida. However, Narayanan in 2023 admitted to the film being a remake of The Chaser. The film is remembered for its erotic scenes.
Singham is a 2011 Indian Hindi-language action film directed by Rohit Shetty and produced by Reliance Entertainment, based on a script by writers Yunus Sajawal and Farhad-Sajid. It serves as first installment of Shetty's Cop Universe. A remake of the 2010 Tamil Suriya film of the same title by Hari, the film stars Ajay Devgn in the lead role as a police officer named Bajirao Singham alongside Kajal Aggarwal and Prakash Raj who reprises his role as in the original.
Krrish 3 is a 2013 Indian superhero film written, produced and directed by Rakesh Roshan, who wrote the screenplay with Honey Irani and Robin Bhatt. It is the third film in the Krrish series, following Koi... Mil Gaya (2003) and Krrish (2006). The film stars Hrithik Roshan, Priyanka Chopra, Kangana Ranaut and Vivek Oberoi. The story follows Krishna Mehra, alias Krrish, and his scientist father, Rohit Mehra, who face an elaborate conspiracy orchestrated by the evil genetist Kaal and his gang of mutants, led by the ruthless Kaya.
Shuddh Desi Romance, released internationally as A Pure Desi Romance, is a 2013 Indian Hindi-language romantic comedy drama film directed by Maneesh Sharma and produced by Aditya Chopra. It features Parineeti Chopra, Sushant Singh Rajput, and Vaani Kapoor in lead roles. The story, set in Jaipur, Rajasthan, explores the views of the younger generation on commitment, live-in relationships and arranged marriages as compared to love marriages in small town India. It screened in the Gala Presentation section of the 2013 Toronto International Film Festival. Upon release, the film received positive reviews from critics with high praise for Chopra, Rajput, and Kapoor's performances, and was declared a hit in India by Box Office India.
Phantom is a 2015 Indian Hindi-language action thriller film directed by Kabir Khan, produced by Sajid Nadiadwala and Siddharth Roy Kapur, starring Saif Ali Khan and Katrina Kaif in leading roles. The screenplay of the film was written in coordination with author Hussain Zaidi's book Mumbai Avengers on the aftermath of 26/11 Mumbai attacks. The film was released worldwide on 28 August 2015 to mixed reviews.
Aman Ke Farishtey is an Indian action film directed by Kader Kashmiri and produced by Pravin Kotak and Sohan Bhatia under banner of Sohan Art International. The film stars Dev Anand, Hema Malini, Javed Jaffrey, Aasif Sheikh and Ekta Sohini in pivotal roles along with Roopa Ganguly, Kiran Kumar and Kader Khan in supporting roles. Aman ke Farishtey has not been released yet in India apart from Mumbai territory. It was released after death of Dev Anand in the year 2016.
