Prithviraj Sukumaran is an Indian actor, producer and director primarily active in Malayalam cinema. He has also featured in Tamil, Hindi and Telugu films, adding to over 100 films involving diverse genres and variety of roles. Prithviraj's accolades include a National Film Award, four Kerala State Film Awards, a Tamil Nadu State Film Award, seven SIIMA Awards and a South Filmfare Award.
The Goat Life(Aadujeevitham) is a 2024 Malayalam language survival drama film written, directed, and co-produced by Blessy. The film is an international co-production involving companies in India and the United States. It is an adaptation of the 2008 best-selling Malayalam novel Aadujeevitham by Benyamin, which is based on the real-life story of Najeeb, a Malayali immigrant laborer in the Gulf. The film stars Prithviraj Sukumaran alongside Jimmy Jean-Louis and K. R. Gokul, Talib Al Balushi, Rik Aby, Amala Paul and Shobha Mohan. The film was initially banned in the GCC countries other than UAE, subsequently the ban was lifted in all the countries except in Kuwait and Saudi Arabia. The novel was also previously banned in the same countries.
1000 Crore Club is an unofficial designation by the Indian film trade and the media, related to Indian language films that have grossed ₹1000 crore or more either within India or worldwide. The 1000 crore club is preceded by the 100 crore club. Baahubali 2: The Conclusion (2017) became the first Indian film to gross over ₹1000 crore worldwide. It grossed ₹1,430 crore across all languages in India and grossed ₹1,810 crore worldwide. It stands as the Highest-grossing film in India domestically till date. It was followed by Dangal, which is the Highest-grossing Indian film, expanding the club to 1900 crore, before creating the ₹2,000 crore (US$240 million) club, and becoming the fifth Highest-grossing non-English language film of that time. In 2022, two films released in the span of a month, RRR and KGF: Chapter 2, grossed over ₹1,000 crore at the global box office. The club expanded with films like Pathaan (2023), Jawan (2023), Kalki 2898 AD(2024), and Pushpa 2: The Rule (2024), with the latter being the fastest film to achieve the record.
Bheeshma Parvam is a 2022 Indian Malayalam-language action thriller film produced and directed by Amal Neerad. The film stars Mammootty and features an ensemble cast of Soubin Shahir, Sreenath Bhasi, Shine Tom Chacko, Farhaan Faasil, Nadhiya Moidu, Sudev Nair, Veena Nandakumar, Dileesh Pothan, Jinu Joseph, Anasuya Bharadwaj, Harish Uthaman, Lena, Shebin Benson, Abu Salim, Anagha. The film is written by Amal Neerad and Devadath Shaji with Ravisankar credited as additional screenwriter. RJ Murukan has penned the additional dialogues.
Naslen K. Gafoor is an Indian actor who appears in Malayalam films. He is best known for his roles in the films Thanneer Mathan Dinangal (2019), Kuruthi (2021), Home (2021), Super Sharanya (2022), Jo and Jo (2022), Neymar (2023) and Premalu (2024), which went on to become one of the highest grossing Malayalam movies of all time, earning him fame across various states of India.
2018 is a 2023 Indian Malayalam-language survival thriller film based on the severe 2018 Kerala floods that devastated Kerala in southern India, a catastrophic natural disaster that was the worst flood to hit the region in more than a century. It is directed by Jude Anthany Joseph, who wrote the screenplay with Akhil P. Dharmajan and is produced by Venu Kunnappilly, C.K. Padmakumar, and Anto Joseph under the banner of Kavya Film Company in collaboration with P.K. Prime Production. The film stars Tovino Thomas, Kunchacko Boban, Asif Ali, Vineeth Sreenivasan, Narain and Lal with an ensemble cast. Set in a fictional village Aruvikulam, the plot follows characters from all walks of life as they struggle to deal with the flood.
Kannur Squad is a 2023 Indian Malayalam-language crime thriller film directed by Roby Varghese Raj in his directorial debut and written by Muhammed Shafi and Rony David Raj. The film stars Mammootty alongside Azees Nedumangad, Rony David Raj, Shabareesh Varma, Kishore and Vijayaraghavan. It was produced by Mammootty under the banner of Mammootty Kampany and was based on the real story of a team of police officers who were part of the Kannur Squad, a crime investigation unit, formed by former Kannur SP S. Sreejith IPS.
Aavesham (transl. Excitement) is a 2024 Indian Malayalam-language action comedy film written and directed by Jithu Madhavan. The film is produced by Nazriya Nazim and Anwar Rasheed under Fahadh Faasil and Friends and Anwar Rasheed Entertainments. It stars Fahadh Faasil, Hipzster, Mithun Jai Shankar, Roshan Shanavas and Sajin Gopu with Midhutty and Mansoor Ali Khan. The film follows three youngsters in Bangalore who befriends a local gangster to help them take revenge on their school bully.
Kishkindha Kaandam is a 2024 Indian Malayalam-language mystery film directed by Dinjith Ayyathan and written by Bahul Ramesh. The film stars Asif Ali, Vijayaraghavan and Aparna Balamurali. The story takes place in the monkey-inhabited Kallepathi reserve forest where ex-military officer Appu Pillai and his son Ajay Chandran, a forest officer, reside.
