Hashim Amla is a retired cricketer who represented the South Africa national cricket team for 15 years. [3] He has scored centuries (100 or more runs in a single innings) in Test and One Day International (ODI) matches on 28 and 27 occasions respectively. [4] [5] Former England captain Geoffrey Boycott once said about him that, "he bats in a way that gives very little hope for the bowlers" and "he plays the same way at the start of his innings as he does at the end of it". [6]
Amla made his Test debut against India at Eden Gardens, Kolkata, in 2004. [7] [8] His first century came two years later against New Zealand at the Newlands Cricket Ground, Cape Town. [9] His score of 311 not out, against England at The Oval, London, in 2012, is the only triple century by a South African batsman in Test cricket. [10] [11] [12] Amla has scored Test centuries at sixteen cricket grounds, including ten at venues outside South Africa. [13] [14] In Tests, he has scored centuries against eight different opponents, and has the most centuries (six) against England. As of January 2019 [update] , Amla has the second-highest number of centuries for South Africa in Tests. [n 1] [15]
Amla made his ODI debut in 2008 against Bangladesh at the Chittagong Divisional Stadium, Chittagong. [16] His first century came in the same year against the same team at the Willowmoore Park, Benoni. [17] His highest ODI score of 159 was made against Ireland at the Manuka Oval, Canberra in 2015. [18] His 27 centuries in the format is a South African record. Amla has played 38 Twenty20 International (T20I) matches without scoring a century; [19] his highest score in the format is 97 not out. [3] As of January 2019 [update] , Amla has the sixth-highest number of centuries across all formats in international cricket. [20]

Abraham Benjamin de Villiers is a former South African international cricketer. AB de Villiers was named as the ICC ODI Player of the Year three times during his 15-year international career and was one of the five Wisden cricketers of the decade at the end of 2019. He is regarded as one of the greatest cricketers in the history of the sport and the best batsman of his era. AB de Villiers began his international career as a wicket-keeper-batsman, but he has played most often solely as a batsman. He batted at various positions in the batting order, but predominantly in the middle-order. Regarded as one of the most innovative and destructive batsmen in the modern era, de Villiers is known for a range of unorthodox shots, particularly behind the wicket-keeper. He made his international debut in a Test match against England in 2004 and first played a One Day International (ODI) in early 2005. His debut in Twenty20 International cricket came in 2006. He scored over 8,000 runs in both Test and ODI cricket and is one of the very few batsmen to have a batting average of over fifty in both forms of the game. In limited overs cricket, he is an attacking player. He holds the record for the fastest ODI century in just 31 balls.
Hashim Mohammad Amla OIS is a South African former cricketer who played for South Africa in all three formats of the game. Amla holds the record for being the fastest ever to score 2000, 3000, 4000, 5000, 6000 and 7000 ODI runs. He also became the fastest cricketer to reach 10 ODI centuries. Amla is an occasional off break bowler, and was South Africa's Test captain from June 2014 to January 2016.
Dean Elgar is a South African cricketer who plays Tests and ODIs, and former Test captain. He is a left-handed opening batter and a slow-left arm bowler.
François "Faf" du Plessis is a South African professional cricketer and former captain of the South Africa national cricket team. He is considered one of the greatest fielders of all time and among the best all-format batsmen of his era. He is also regarded as one of the most tactically astute and successful captains in all formats of modern cricket. In 2015, Du Plessis became the first South African to score centuries in all forms of the game. He was named as the South African Cricketer of the Year in 2019.
The Sri Lankan cricket team toured South Africa from 9 December 2011 to 22 January 2012. The tour included three Tests and five One Day Internationals (ODIs) between Sri Lanka and South Africa.
Quinton de Kock is a South African cricketer and former captain of the Proteas in all three formats. He currently plays for South Africa in limited overs cricket, Titans at the domestic level, and Lucknow Super Giants in the Indian Premier League. He was named the Cricketer of the Year at Cricket South Africa's 2017 Annual Awards.
The South African national cricket team toured Sri Lanka in July 2014 to play two Test matches and three One Day International matches. The Test series was originally scheduled for July 2013 but was then postponed until 2015 before being brought forward to July 2014.
Aiden Kyle Markram is a South African cricketer who is the current captain of the South Africa national cricket team in Twenty20 International cricket. and captained the South African under-19 cricket team to win the 2014 ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup. In the 2018 South African Cricket Annual, he was named as one of the five Cricketers of the Year. Markram has been described by former captain and batsman Graeme Smith as a future South Africa captain. He made his international debut for South Africa in September 2017.
Sri Lankan national cricket team toured South Africa from 18 December 2016 to 10 February 2017. The tour consisted of a series of three Tests, five One Day Internationals (ODIs) and three Twenty20 Internationals (T20Is). After the initial tour schedule was announced, the dates were moved slightly to accommodate South Africa's domestic T20 tournament.
The 2013 ICC Awards were broadcast in a special TV show which was aired on 14 December 2013. The ICC had been hosting ICC Awards since 2004, which were now into their tenth year. Previous events were held in London, Sydney (2005), Mumbai (2006), Johannesburg, Dubai (2008), Bangalore (2010) and Colombo (2012). The ICC awards the Sir Garfield Sobers Trophy to the Cricketer of the Year, which is considered to be the most prestigious award in world cricket.
