American singer Nicole Scherzinger has recorded songs for two studio albums and other projects, including collaborations with other artists. She came to prominence in the early 2000s as a member of the girl-group Eden's Crush. Under her Hawaiian name, Nicole Kea, she began distributing demo CDs to different labels in hopes of a solo deal. In 2003 Scherzinger auditioned for and was cast as the lead singer of The Pussycat Dolls, a burlesque troupe turned recording music group. [1]
While recording the group's debut album, PCD (2005), Scherzinger began working on her own solo album titled Her Name Is Nicole, which was due to be released in 2007. [1] Over the course of two years, Scherzinger recorded around 100 songs while working with songwriter-producers Akon, Sean Garrett, Gary Lightbody, Ne-Yo, Polow da Don, T.I., Timbaland and will.i.am. [1] In September 2007 Scherzinger released her debut single, "Baby Love" featuring will.i.am, achieving moderate success. [1] The lack of success of the other three singles: "Whatever U Like", "Supervillain" and "'Puakenikeni", led Scherzinger to cancel her Then Debut Album Titled "Her Name Is Nicole", and focus on the Pussycat Dolls' second studio album. [2] Doll Domination (2008) included songs like "Happily Never After", "I Hate This Part", "When I Grow Up" and "Who's Gonna Love You" which were originally recorded by Scherzinger for her solo effort. [2] In 2009 Scherzinger was asked to re-write and record a pop music version of "Jai Ho", a song from the film Slumdog Millionaire . [3] The new English language version of the song was called "Jai Ho! (You Are My Destiny)", and Scherzinger was credited as a featured artist causing internal strife within and the eventual split of the group. [3]
Following the disbandment of the Pussycat Dolls, Scherzinger once again began working on her debut studio album in 2010. Moroccan producer RedOne, famed for his work with Lady Gaga, worked extensively with Scherzinger, producing and writing half of the album's songs. The album was named Killer Love , after a song of the same name produced by RedOne. [4] Scherzinger would later confirm that it was her decision to not put out the previous incarnation of her debut album, Her Name Is Nicole. [5] Killer Love was released on March 11, 2011, featuring just one of the songs from the Her Name is Nicole recording sessions, Scherizinger's collaboration with Sting, "Power's Out". [6] [7] Scherzinger and RedOne wrote the lead single "Poison", "Killer Love", "Desperate" and "Everybody" while "AmenJena" was co-written with Trina Harmon. Other contributions come from the likes of Jim Jonsin, StarGate, Terius "The-Dream" Nash, Christopher "Tricky" Stewart and Boi-1da. The second single, "Don't Hold Your Breath", was written by Josh Alexander, Billy Steinberg and Toby Gad; [6] it reached number one on the UK Singles Chart and became Scherzinger's highest-charting single in the country, [8] while its third single "Right There" became the singer's highest-charting single on the Billboard Hot 100. [9]
In March 2013, Scherzinger released a new will.i.am-produced single "Boomerang", which was expected to be the lead single from her then untitled second album. [10] [11] New recording sessions resumed with previous collaborators Tricky Stewart and The-Dream in the summer of 2013 [12] and by 2014, Scherzinger had left her long time record label Interscope for a new multi-record deal with RCA Records and Sony Music. [13] Second album Big Fat Lie was released in October 2014 and features the singles "Your Love", "Run", "On the Rocks" and "Bang". [14] The album was written and produced almost entirely by Tricky Stewart and The-Dream, with Scherzinger co-writing the title track, and Justin Tranter and Julia Michaels contributing to "Run". During her career, Scherzinger has also covered songs from various musicals, including "And I Am Telling You" (from Dreamgirls ) with Sam Bailey, for Bailey's debut album The Power of Love , "Memory" (from Cats ) and "Don't Cry for Me Argentina" (from Evita ) amongst others.

It was written by Franne Golde, Kasia Livingston and Robert Palmer and produced by Ron Fair. A pop ballad with soul influences, the song finds the group celebrating monogamous relationships, with music critics drawing comparisons to fellow girl groups Cover Girls, Sweet Sensation, and the Spice Girls. It was released as the album's second single on September 26, 2005, by A&M Records and Interscope Records.

It was written by Sean Garrett, Jamal Jones, Jason Perry and group member Nicole Scherzinger, and produced by the former two alongside Ron Fair. Jessica Lynn Sutta is an American singer, songwriter, dancer and former actress. She is a former member of the pop group the Pussycat Dolls. As a solo artist, Sutta shelved her first attempt with a debut album, Sutta Pop (2012), but went on to release two studio albums Feline Resurrection (2016) and I Say Yes (2017) and reached four number ones on US Dance Club Songs, becoming the only former Pussycat Dolls' member to reach the top of an American chart.
"Wait a Minute" is a song recorded by American girl group the Pussycat Dolls for their debut studio album PCD (2005). It features a guest appearance from Timbaland, who served as the song's sole producer and co-wrote it with Keri Hilson and Craig Longmiles. Lyrically, the song showcases the artists flirting and committing to a playful give and take, highlighting the differences between the two sexes. In the United States, A&M Records and Interscope Records released the song to contemporary hit radio on October 16, 2006, as the fifth single of the album in the US and the sixth and final in international territories. An accompanying music video was directed by Marc Webb features the Pussycat Dolls performing choreography on a subway car and city streets. It was nominated for a MuchMusic Video Award and a MOBO Award.
"Lie About Us" is a song recorded by American singer Avant from his fourth studio album Director (2006), featuring American singer Nicole Scherzinger. The song was written by Beau Dozier and Bruce Boniface and its production was handled by Dozier and Ron Fair. The track was inspired by the time Dozier had a secret affair with singer Joss Stone while being in a relationship. In the neo soul song the lyrics chronicles the man's promise to the mistress and come clean about the relationship. It was released as the album's fourth single on July 31, 2006 to urban contemporary stations in the United States. An accompanying music video was released several days earlier and portrays the artists as love interests.
Nicole Scherzinger is an American singer, songwriter, dancer, actress, and television personality. She was a member of the R&B-pop group and dance ensemble The Pussycat Dolls between 2003 and 2010. With only two albums and over 55 million records sold worldwide, The Pussycat Dolls became one of the world's best-selling female groups of all time.
The discography of American girl group the Pussycat Dolls consists of two studio albums, two extended plays, two video albums, 15 singles, two promotional singles, and 15 music videos. To date, the group has sold 15 million albums and 40 million singles worldwide.
The Pussycat Dolls were an American girl group and dance ensemble, founded in Los Angeles, California, by choreographer Robin Antin in 1995 as a neo-burlesque troupe. At the suggestion of Jimmy Iovine, Antin decided to take the troupe mainstream as a pop group. Antin negotiated a record deal with Interscope Geffen A&M Records in 2003 turning the group into a music franchise comprising Nicole Scherzinger, Carmit Bachar, Ashley Roberts, Jessica Sutta, Melody Thornton, and Kimberly Wyatt. Their debut single, "Sway", was featured on the soundtrack of the 2004 film Shall We Dance?.
"Baby Love" is a song recorded by American singer Nicole Scherzinger. The song was produced by and features will.i.am. Scherzinger and will.i.am co-wrote the song with Kara DioGuardi and Keith Harris. "Baby Love" was released from September 18, 2007, by A&M and Interscope Records, as the second single from Scherzinger's unreleased debut studio album, Her Name Is Nicole. The folk-inspired R&B ballad is about a person's first premature love with someone.
"When I Grow Up" is a song by American girl group the Pussycat Dolls from their second studio album Doll Domination (2008). It was released by Interscope Records on May 27, 2008, as the lead single from the album. It was first written for Britney Spears, but was rejected. It was then considered and recorded for Nicole Scherzinger's planned solo project, Her Name Is Nicole, but after its cancellation and Scherzinger's return to the group, she felt that the song was better suited for the group. "When I Grow Up" was written by Theron Thomas, Timothy Thomas, and Rodney "Darkchild" Jerkins, who also produced the song. It is an uptempo electropop and R&B song, sampling the 1966 song, "He's Always There" by British rock band The Yardbirds. "When I Grow Up" speaks about the desire to be famous, and was described as being "autobiographical" by Scherzinger.
Doll Domination is the second and final studio album by American girl group the Pussycat Dolls, released on September 19, 2008, by Interscope Records. The album's release was preceded by the departure of the group's longest-standing member Carmit Bachar. Development began in February 2008 where the group worked with previous collaborators Sean Garrett, Polow da Don and Timbaland and new ones such as Darkchild, J-Roc and Chase N. Cashe. Polow da Don, R. Kelly and Snoop Dogg also make guest performances on the album. Several songs on Doll Domination were originally recorded for the lead singer Nicole Scherzinger's debut solo album, Her Name is Nicole, which was shelved after the under-performance of its preceding singles.
"Bottle Pop" is a song by American girl group the Pussycat Dolls for their second studio album Doll Domination (2008). It was written and produced by Sean Garrett and Fernando Garibay, with additional songwriting by group's lead singer Nicole Scherzinger. The song features American rapper Snoop Dogg, whom they previously collaborated with on "Buttons" (2006). It is an electronica song that uses sexual innuendo, and has been compared to works of Ciara, Flo Rida, Petey Pablo, Britney Spears, and Gwen Stefani. The single was released in Australia, Germany, and New Zealand between February and March. In the latermost country, a remix, featuring rapper Devolo was released replacing Dogg for its local release.
"I Hate This Part" is a song by the American girl group the Pussycat Dolls, taken from their second studio album Doll Domination (2008). It was written by Wayne Hector, Lucas Secon, Jonas Jeberg, Mich Hansen and produced by the latter two and Ron Fair. The track was initially intended for Leona Lewis and later for Nicole Scherzinger's unreleased solo album, Her Name is Nicole. After the album's cancellation, the song was ultimately given to the group. Musically, it is a pop ballad with elements of grinding R&B and dance music. Lyrically, it sees Scherzinger conversating with a partner just before they break up, adopting breathy and emotional vocals. Interscope Records released it as the second single in territories outside the United States on October 14, 2008, and sent it to the US mainstream radio on October 21, 2008, as the fourth single.
"Out of This Club" is a song by American girl group the Pussycat Dolls from their second studio album, Doll Domination (2008). The song features guest appearances from singer R. Kelly and record producer Polow da Don, who both wrote the song. In the United States, it was serviced to urban contemporary radio stations on October 10, 2008, months after Kelly's acquittal of possessing child pornography in 2002. In the R&B song, lead singer Nicole Scherzinger teases Kelly to get her to settle down with piano melodies and a soft beat. The song received mixed reviews from music critics, who were split towards Kelly's artistry. The song debuted and peaked at number 24 on the US Billboard Bubbling Under R&B/Hip-Hop Singles chart. In 2019, "Out of This Club" was removed from digital and streaming platforms, following new allegations of sexual misconduct and assault towards Kelly.
"Hush Hush; Hush Hush" is the remix of "Hush Hush", a song by American female group The Pussycat Dolls. The track was written by Andreas Romdhane, Josef Larossi, Ina Wroldsen, Nicole Scherzinger, Dino Fekaris, and Freddie Perren and produced by the former two alongside Ron Fair and Dave Audé is included on the reissues of the group's second album Doll Domination (2008). It was released on May 12, 2009 by Interscope Records as the album's seventh overall and final single. It is also the group's final release before their disbandment in 2010 until they reformed in 2019. Originally a ballad on the album, the song was remixed for its release as a single with a more uptempo disco-influenced production and interpolation of Gloria Gaynor's "I Will Survive" (1978) with lyrics alluding to a doomed relationship.
"Jai Ho! " is a song by Indian composer A. R. Rahman and American girl group The Pussycat Dolls, recorded for the re-release of the group's second studio album Doll Domination (2008) and their EP Doll Domination – The Mini Collection (2009). It was released on February 23, 2009, by Interscope Records as the fourth single from the album and is an English remake of the original Hindi song "Jai Ho" which is taken from the soundtrack to the hit film Slumdog Millionaire (2008). The remake was conceived by record executives Jimmy Iovine and Ron Fair who tasked the Dolls' lead singer Nicole Scherzinger with creating a pop record that did not deviate from the original melody. Iovine and Fair also asked a number of other writers to create interpretations of the song, including Brick & Lace, The Writing Camp and Ester Dean. The final English version of "Jai Ho" was dubbed "Jai Ho! " and is sometimes also referred to as the "RF Mix" or "Ron Fair" Remix.
"Just Say Yes" is a song by Northern Irish–Scottish alternative rock band Snow Patrol, released as the single to follow "The Planets Bend Between Us" in October–November 2009, depending on the region. The song, produced by Jacknife Lee, is one of the three new songs and the lead single of the band's first compilation album, Up to Now (2009). The lyrics were written by Gary Lightbody and the music was composed by Snow Patrol. "Just Say Yes" has its origins as a song written for pop singer Gwen Stefani, who rejected it. Nicole Scherzinger of the Pussycat Dolls was then given permission by Lightbody to record it for her solo debut album, which was later shelved.
Killer Love is the debut solo studio album by Pussycat Dolls lead singer Nicole Scherzinger which features special guest appearances from Sting, Enrique Iglesias & 50 Cent. It was released on March 18, 2011, by Interscope Records, in association with its affiliated record labels. Scherzinger had been working on a solo album since 2005, under the title Her Name Is Nicole and was originally due for release in 2007. However, unsuccessful singles and poor timing led the project being pushed back numerous times. After releasing The Pussycat Dolls' second studio album Doll Domination (2008), Scherzinger shelved the project entirely citing bad timing and creative issues as the reasons for its cancellation. Many of its songs were reassigned to the Dolls or other artists. In 2010, Moroccan producer RedOne was brought on board for a second attempt at launching her solo album.
"Boomerang" is a song by American singer Nicole Scherzinger, originally intended for her then-upcoming second studio album. It was written by Azengo, Morgan Jackson, Danny Mercer, Anthony Preston, and Sandy Wilhelm, with production by Wilhelm under his production name of Sandy Vee, Preston, and will.i.am. The song was released as a single on March 8, 2013 by Interscope. It is a dance and pop song with uplifting lyrics that speak about coming back up when you get knocked down, with music critics drawing comparisons to "Stronger " by Kelly Clarkson. Critical reception of the former from critics was mixed, with criticism for the simple lyrics but praise for the chorus being catchy.
