Marietta is a city in Lac qui Parle County, Minnesota, United States on Minnesota State Highway 40 near the South Dakota border. The population was 162 at the 2010 census. [4]
Marietta was platted in 1884. [5] A post office has been in operation at Marietta since 1884. [6] A share of the early settlers were natives of Marietta, Ohio. [5] The city was incorporated in 1899. [5]
According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 0.38 square miles (0.98 km2), all land. [7]

There were 101 housing units at an average density of 265.8 per square mile (102.6/km2). The racial makeup of the city was 98.8% White and 1.2% from two or more races.
There were 82 households, of which 18.3% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 36.6% were married couples living together, 11.0% had a female householder with no husband present, 8.5% had a male householder with no wife present, and 43.9% were non-families. 39.0% of all households were made up of individuals, and 18.3% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 1.98 and the average family size was 2.52.
The median age in the city was 49.8 years. 14.8% of residents were under the age of 18; 8% were between the ages of 18 and 24; 16.1% were from 25 to 44; 36.4% were from 45 to 64; and 24.7% were 65 years of age or older. The gender makeup of the city was 50.0% male and 50.0% female.

The average household size was 2.02 and the average family size was 2.83.
In the city, the population was spread out, with 20.7% under the age of 18, 6.3% from 18 to 24, 21.8% from 25 to 44, 21.8% from 45 to 64, and 29.3% who were 65 years of age or older.
