The Miss Iowa competition is the official preliminary for the state of Iowa in the Miss America Scholarship Competition.
Abi Batu-Tiako of Oskaloosa was crowned Miss Iowa 2024 on June 15, 2024, at the Davenport North High School in Davenport, Iowa. She will compete for the title of Miss America 2025.
No contestant from Iowa has ever won the national Miss America title although two Miss Iowa Titleholders have been named first runner-up.[ citation needed ]
Cheryl Browne, Miss Iowa 1970, competed in the Miss America 1971 pageant as the first African American contestant. [1]

Carol Ann Laverne Morris is an American actress, model and beauty queen who was the second Miss USA to win the Miss Universe title in the pageant's fifth edition in 1956. She was crowned by Hillevi Rombin, Miss Universe 1955, of Sweden.
The Miss Iowa USA competition is the pageant that selects the representative for the state of Iowa in the Miss USA pageant. It is directed by Future Productions based in Savage, Minnesota since 2008.
The Miss Iowa Teen USA competition is the pageant that selects the representative for the state of Iowa in the Miss Teen USA pageant, which is co-owned by the Miss USA Organization by Crystle Stewart. This pageant is produced by Future Productions, LLC which also produces state pageants for Minnesota, Wisconsin, North Dakota, Colorado, South Dakota, and Wyoming.
The Miss Arizona competition is the pageant that selects the representative for the state of Arizona in the Miss America pageant. Arizona has twice won the Miss America title. The first Miss Arizona, Anna Marie Barnett, was crowned in 1938.
The Miss Missouri competition is the pageant that selects the representative for the U.S. state of Missouri in the Miss America pageant.
The Miss Arkansas competition is the pageant that selects the representative for the state of Arkansas in the Miss America pageant. Arkansas has won the Miss America title three times.
The Miss Montana competition is the pageant that selects the representative for the U.S. state of Montana in the Miss America pageant.
The Miss Nevada competition is the pageant that selects the representative for the state of Nevada in the Miss America competition, and the name of the title held by that winner. The first Nevadan to compete at Miss America was Carol Lampe in 1949.
Miss USA 1953 was the second Miss USA pageant, held at the Long Beach Municipal Auditorium in Long Beach, California on July 16, 1953.
Miss America 2015 was the 88th Miss America pageant, held at the Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City, New Jersey, on September 14, 2014.
Miss America 2016 was the 89th Miss America pageant, held at the Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City, New Jersey, on September 13, 2015.

Kelley Elizabeth Johnson is an American nurse, tv host and beauty pageant titleholder. In addition to being a Chief Nurse Advocate, she is also a doctoral student, keynote speaker and national spokeswoman. Kelly Johnson was also crowned Miss Colorado 2015 and placing 2nd runner-up at Miss America 2016. Johnson later won Miss California USA 2018. She placed in the top 10 at Miss USA 2018.
The 2018 Iowa gubernatorial election took place on November 6, 2018. Incumbent Republican governor Kim Reynolds ran for election to a full term, facing Democratic businessman Fred Hubbell, Libertarian Jake Porter, and independent candidate Gary Siegwarth.

The 2020 United States House of Representatives elections in Iowa was held on November 3, 2020, to elect the four U.S. representatives from the state of Iowa, one from each of the state's four congressional districts. The elections coincided with the 2020 U.S. presidential election, as well as other elections to the House of Representatives, elections to the United States Senate and various state and local elections.
Miss America's Outstanding Teen 2020 was the 14th annual Miss America's Outstanding Teen pageant held in Orlando, Florida on July 27, 2019. The preliminary competition was held on July 23-25, 2019.
The Miss America 2020 competition was held on Thursday, December 19, 2019. This was the 93rd Miss America pageant/competition, though the Miss America Organization celebrated its 99th anniversary in 2019. This discrepancy is due to national pageants not being held from 1928 to 1932 or in 1934 because of financial problems associated with the Great Depression.
Iowa also has a new Outstanding Teen. Aly Olson, 17, of Des Moines, who is Miss Capital City's Outstanding Teen, was crowned Friday during competition at the Adler Theatre.
