Nuuk is the capital of and most populous city in Greenland, an autonomous territory in the Kingdom of Denmark. Nuuk is the seat of government and the territory's largest cultural and economic center. The major cities from other countries closest to the capital are Iqaluit and St. John's in Canada and Reykjavík in Iceland. Nuuk contains a third of Greenland's population and its tallest building. Nuuk is also the seat of government for the Sermersooq municipality. In January 2023, it had a population of 19,604. Nuuk is considered a modernized city after the policy began in 1950.

The Greenland national football team represents Greenland in non-FIFA international tournaments. It is controlled by the Football Association of Greenland. Nuuk Airport is an airport serving Nuuk, the capital of Greenland. The airport is a technical base and focus city for Air Greenland, the flag carrier airline of Greenland, linking the capital with several towns in western and south-western part of the country, including the airline hub at Kangerlussuaq Airport. With connections to Iceland, Nuuk Airport is also one of six international airports in Greenland but serves only destinations within Greenland and Iceland. International connections are made with flights to either Keflavík International Airport in Iceland or Kangerlussuaq Airport.

Narsarsuaq Airport is an airport located in Narsarsuaq, a settlement in the Kujalleq municipality in southern Greenland. Along with Kangerlussuaq Airport, it is one of two airports in Greenland capable of serving large airliners. It is also the only international airport in southern Greenland. The settlement it serves is small, with the airport primarily functioning as a transfer point for passengers heading for the helicopter hubs of Air Greenland in Qaqortoq and Nanortalik. The airport is to be closed in 2025 when Qaqortoq Airport is scheduled to open.
Greenland Connect is a submarine communications cable system that connects Canada, Greenland, and Iceland. The cable contains two fibre pairs specified for 128*10 Gbit/s wavelength each. It is located in the Old Nuuk neighborhood, approximately 150 m (490 ft) to the southeast of the Nuuk Cathedral, and its name means "The little Greenlander" in the Greenlandic language. It is the largest fresh food market in Greenland.

The Arktisk Stadion is a proposed association football stadium which would replace Nuuk Stadium as the national stadium of Greenland. The stadium is proposed, in part, to allow Greenland to participate in FIFA and UEFA as the organizations' strict guidelines on stadiums are a barrier to admittance. It is expected to seat several thousand spectators and be fully enclosed with heating. The stadium was, at one point, expected to be completed by 2020; however, as of November 2019, the Greenlandic government was still seeking investors to help finance the stadium's construction. Danish architecture firm Bjarke Ingels Group (BIG) and its renowned architect David Zahle designed the stadium as part of the larger proposed cultural center. In 2016 the firm was paid 380,000 Danish krone (€51,000) for planning and design work, with the majority going toward feasibility studies.
The Narsaq massacre was a mass shooting on 1 January 1990 in Narsaq, a southern Greenland town in the municipality of Kujalleq, 250 miles (400 km) south of the island's capital of Nuuk. Seven people were killed and one critically wounded during a party in the worst mass shooting in Greenland’s history.
Brugseni or Brugsen is a Greenlandic supermarket chain, which was founded in 1991 as a union of separate cooperatives dating back to 1963.
Laura Tàunâjik Uitsatikitseq is a Greenlandic politician. She was a Siumut member of the Inatsisartut from 2014 to 2020, when she resigned to care for her children. From 2017 onward, she was a member of the municipal council for Sermersooq. Her work included advocacy for victims of domestic violence.
Naaja Nathanielsen is a Greenlandic politician of the Inuit Ataqatigiit party. She was a member of the Inatsisartut from 2009 to 2016, and was re-elected in 2021. She has been the director of Greenland's department of prisons and probation from 2016, and became minister for natural resources in 2021. In her role as minister for natural resources, she banned uranium mining. She is a feminist, and has spoken against domestic violence in the country.
Asii Kleist Berthelsen is a Greenlandic footballer who plays as a forward for Kvindeliga club Fortuna Hjørring and the Denmark women's national under-19 team.
