Nor Shamsiah binti Mohd Yunus (born 1964) [1] was the 9th Governor of the Central Bank of Malaysia from 2018 to 2023, [2] replacing Tan Sri Muhammad bin Ibrahim. She served as Deputy Governor of Bank Negara from 2010 to 2013 and from 2013 to 2016. Later,she joined the International Monetary Fund as Assistant Director of the Financial and Capital Markets Division. [3]
She is the second woman to be appointed Governor of the National Bank after Tan Sri Dr Zeti Akhtar Aziz.
She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Accounting from the University of South Australia and is a chartered accountant (CPA).
She has been in working at Bank Negara Malaysia since 1987. In 1999,she was appointed Director of the Bank's Regulation Department until 2004. On 1 December 2004 she was appointed Assistant Governor of Bank Negara Malaysia. She has served as the Deputy Governor of the Central Bank twice,namely in 2010-2013 and 2013–2016. She was finally appointed Governor of Bank Negara Malaysia from 1 July 2018. [4]
She has been in charge of financial development,strategic human resource management,organizational development transformation,prudent regulatory formation,bank regulatory and regulatory rules,crisis management and insurance.
She was directly involved in the settlement of the 1998 Asian Financial Crisis,playing an important role also in the formulation of the Financial Sector Masterplan (2001-2010) and the Financial Sector Roadmap (2011-2020). [5]

The Central Bank of Malaysia is the Malaysian central bank. Established on 26 January 1959 as the Central Bank of Malaya,its main purpose is to issue currency,act as the banker and advisor to the government of Malaysia,and to regulate the country's financial institutions,credit system and monetary policy. Its headquarters is located in Kuala Lumpur,the federal capital of Malaysia.

Tan Sri Amirsham bin Abdul Aziz is the former president and chief executive officer of Maybank. His parents A. Aziz Podo and Marsinah Djamil,migrated from Silungkang,West Sumatra. He was the Minister in the Prime Minister's Department in charge of the Economic Planning Unit. Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi's move in appointing him as a minister was seen as an attempt in including specialists in the fields of economics and law to help stimulate the Malaysian economy.
Ungku Zeti Akhtar binti Ungku Abdul Aziz was the 7th Governor of Bank Negara Malaysia,Malaysia's central bank. She served as Governor from 2000 to 2016,and was the first woman in the position and at 16 years,the longest to hold the position. Zeti was one of the members of the Council of Eminent Persons (CEP) in Mahathir's second administration,a special advisory council advising the government on economic and financial matters during this transitional period.

Muhammad bin Ibrahim was the 8th Governor of the Central Bank of Malaysia. He assumed the office of Governor on 1 May 2016,succeeding Zeti Akhtar Aziz. He tendered his resignation on 6 June 2018.

Mohd Zuki bin Ali is a Malaysian civil servant who served as the 15th Chief Secretary to the Government from 2020 to 2024.

Mohd Irwan also held the portfolio of Secretary General of the Treasury at Central Bank and Executive Director at Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM),the Institute of Strategic and International Studies (ISIS) Malaysia and Pendinginan Megajana Sdn. Bhd. Prior to that,he was appointed Deputy Under-Secretary in the Economic and International Division in the Ministry of Finance in 2007 and Under-Secretary in the same division in 2008.
Tan Sri Datuk Seri Panglima Mohd Bakri bin Mohd Zinin is a former Malaysian police officer who served as Deputy Inspector-General of Police (DIG),from May 2013 to his retirement in September 2014. He was the first Sabahan to become DIG.
