Qoriyoley District (Somali : Degmada Qoriyoley) is a district in the southeastern Lower Shabelle (Shabeellaha Hoose) region of Somalia. Its capital is Qoryoley. In 2005, it had a population of 134,205. [1] The name "Qoriyoley" litterally translates to "Gunsmith".
Awdal is an administrative region (gobol) in western Somaliland. It was separated from Woqooyi Galbeed and became a province in 1984 and is the most northwesterly province of Somaliland. To the east it borders Maroodi Jeex and Sahil; to its north-west it borders Djibouti; to its south and south-west lies Ethiopia; and the Gulf of Aden to its north. The province has an estimated population of 1,010,566. The region comprises the four districts of Borama, the regional capital, Baki, Lughaya, and Zeila.

The southern parts of Gedo, west of the Jubba River, used to be part of the old British Trans-Juba region during half of the seventy years of colonial era in Africa from 1890 to 1960. The British and Italians fought twice over this area. The first democratically elected governor of the administrative region was Hussein Farey, who entered office in 2008.

The border between Hudun District and Las Anod District goes through the town of Buur Anod, also called Buur Caanood, a town that lies in between the towns of Dib Shabeel to the north, and Daryaha (Daryaha) to the south. This was the site of the largest battle between Dervish and colonial forces in 1904.
