It is 75 km from Baldweyne, the capital of Hiran.

Ceelbaraf (Elbaraf) is a town and district in the Middle Shabelle, Somalia. It is a transportation hub at the junction of roads and had been effectively controlled by the Islamic militant group Al-Shabaab since 2009 and by the African Union Mission to Somalia (AMISOM) since 2016.

The battle of Runirgod took place between December 12 and December 22, 2022, with Somali forces launching an offensive against al-Shabaab in the Runirgod District of Middle Shabelle, the group's last stronghold in the state.
