Raikia is a town and a Notified Area Council in Kandhamal district in the Indian state of Odisha. [1] [2] [3]

About

The population of Raikia is mainly consist of Hindu, Christian (Catholic and Baptist), [4] and a good population of the tribe (Kandha). It is known as the business capital of Kandhamal district. The town has many educational institutions like Jivan Jyoti Mahavidyalaya (where BA, BSc are the courses you can opt for), St. Catherine's Girls High School (co-education till std 5 and unisex education after words), Bijay High School, Govt. Residential Girls High School (Kanyashram), Saraswati Sishu Bidya Mandir and many more. There are few very good hospitals like Govt. Hospital and Mission Hospital.

Location

It is located 227 km from Bhubaneshwar, the state capital of Odisha and 147 km from Berhampur, [5] the major city of South Odisha. The nearest railway station is Rairakhol around 100 km from it. The region around Phulbani has a variety of flora and fauna. It is a place surrounded by hills and has a lot of small and big waterfalls around it. The most spectacular of the lot is situated at a distance of about 10 km Mondasur kuti among the local people is situated at a distance of about 10 km from Raikia.

Tikabali is a small town in Kandhamal district, a central district of Odisha state in India. The town having an approximate population of more than 10,000 is known for Turmeric trading. As a business centre, its economy is boomed and boosted by A.M.C.S., a co-operative society helping tribal people getting value for their tribal collections. At present, AMCS is dead for more than seven years and the working of AMCS is affected due to that the local tribes are affected but some youths of Tikabali town are trying to once again starting the working of AMCS. River Pilasalunki flow aside the town providing water. One of the main attractive point of the town is Jagannath Temple, from where you can see the entire town around.
