Ravneet Singh Bittu is an Indian politician. He previously served as the leader of Indian National Congress in Lok Sabha from 11 March 2021 to 18 July 2021. [1] [2] [3] Bittu was elected to the Lok Sabha,lower house of the Parliament of India from Ludhiana in 2014,2019 Indian general elections and earlier from Anandpur Sahib in 2009. [4] He is the grandson of former Punjab Chief Minister Beant Singh. [5] [6]
In January 2021,he was assaulted at the Singhu border during a 'Jan Sansad' program. [7] [8]
He was appointed the party whip in Lok Sabha. [9]
In March 2021,he was briefly appointed the leader of the Congress in the Lok Sabha when the existing Congress Lok Sabha leader Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury was busy in 2021 West Bengal election campaigns. [10]
In 2023,he received a bomb threat via a WhatsApp call. [11]
On March 24,2024 he joined the Bharatiya Janta Party. [12]

Beant Singh was an Indian politician and the 12th Chief Minister of Punjab from 1992 to 1995. He was a member of Indian National Congress. He was assassinated in a suicide bombing.
Simranjit Singh Mann is a former Indian Police Service officer and a Member of the Parliament in the Lok Sabha, the lower house of the Parliament of India, representing the constituency of Sangrur since 2022. He is the president of the political party Shiromani Akali Dal (Amritsar). Mann has served three-times as an MP; once from Taran Tarn between 1989 and 1991, and twice from Sangrur between 1999-2004 and since 2022. Bhagwant Singh Mann is an Indian politician, social worker, former comedian, singer and actor who is currently serving as the 17th Chief minister of Punjab since 2022. Rana Gurjeet Singh is current MLA of Punjab from Kapurthala Assembly constituency. He represented the Jalandhar Lok Sabha constituency of Punjab from 2004 to 2009 and is a member of the Indian National Congress (INC) political party. Rana Gurjeet Singh migrated to Punjab in the year 1986 and set up a kraft-based paper mill in dist. Ropar. Balwant Singh Rajoana was convicted for the assassination of Beant Singh on 31 August 1995. Rajoana was sentenced to death on 1 August 2007 by a special CBI court in Chandigarh. Beant Singh was killed by Balwant Singh's associate Dilawar Singh Babbar and Balwant Singh was the backup human bomb to be used had Dilawar failed in his mission.

Sunil Kumar Jakhar is an Indian politician and president of the Bharatiya Janata Party, Punjab unit since 4th July 2023. Previously, Jakhar was the president of the Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee from 2017 to 2021. In May 2022, he joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), claiming that he wanted to support "nationalism, unity and brotherhood in Punjab". Earlier, Jakhar was elected as a Member of Parliament from Gurdaspur constituency to the Lok Sabha, the lower house of Indian parliament in a by-election in 2017.

He was the former Vice Chairman of the Delhi Jal Board and MLA from the Rajendra Nagar assembly constituency in Delhi till 2022. Chadha has been elected as Member of Parliament, Rajya Sabha. Sukhbir Singh Badal is an Indian politician and Sikh rights advocate who served thrice as the Deputy Chief Minister of Punjab and is currently the president of Shiromani Akali Dal, along with being a member of Parliament from the Firozpur Lok Sabha constituency. He is the son of Parkash Singh Badal, who has served five times as the Chief Minister of Punjab. He holds lots of power over the Sikh organizations of the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee and the Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee. A businessman at heart, Badal and his family have ownership stakes in an array of businesses- including real estate, transport and other activities to promote Punjab's economic condition on a national level.

Elections, all across India, were conducted in seven phases from 11 April 2019 to 19 May 2019 by the Election Commission of India. Counting started officially on the morning of 23 May 2019 and the results were declared on the same day.
Amrik Singh Aliwal is a grassroots Indian politician who started his political innings as the Sarpanch of Village Aliwal which falls in District Ludhiana. He was imprisoned for six months in 1994 for an agitation regarding democratic rights of the people. He was elected to the Lok Sabha, the lower house of the Parliament of India as a member of the Shiromani Akali Dal and remained the Lok Sabha member from Ludhiana for two terms. On 14 December 2021, he joined Punjab Lok Congress.
