The Zimbabwe men's national cricket team,also known as the Chevrons,represents Zimbabwe in men's international cricket and is overseen by Zimbabwe Cricket. Zimbabwe has been a Full Member of the International Cricket Council (ICC) since 1992. As of May,2023,Zimbabwe was ranked 10th in Tests,11th in One Day Internationals (ODIs) and 11th in Twenty20 internationals (T20Is) by the ICC.
Tatenda Taibu is a former Zimbabwean cricketer who captained the Zimbabwe national cricket team. He is a wicket-keeper-batsman. From 6 May 2004 to 5 September 2019,he held the record for being the youngest test captain in history when he captained his team against Sri Lanka until Rashid Khan of Afghanistan claimed the record. Brendan Ross Murray Taylor is a Zimbabwean former international cricketer and a former Zimbabwean captain,who played all formats of the game. Taylor is a right-handed batsman but is also an off spinner. In 2015,former Zimbabwe captain Alistair Campbell described Taylor as "our standout player for the last seven or eight years". He is known for his unorthodox shots especially his ability to play upper cuts over the third man and ramp shots with elegance and are often considered as his trademark signature shots. His style of play and ability to make substantial contribution with the bat often drew comparisons with that of Andy Flower. He represented Zimbabwe in four ICC T20 World Cup tournaments in 2007,2010,2012 and 2014. Also,he represented Zimbabwe in three ICC ODI world cups as well in 2007,2011 and 2015.
Chamunorwa Justice "Chamu" Chibhabha is a Zimbabwean cricketer who bats right-handed and bowls right-arm medium pace. In January 2020,Zimbabwe Cricket named him as the captain of Zimbabwe's One Day International (ODI) and Twenty20 International (T20I) squads on an interim basis.
The West Indies cricket team toured Zimbabwe in June and July 2001 to play 2 Test matches against Zimbabwe. The series was named Clive Lloyd Trophy,in honor of former West Indian great Clive Lloyd. West Indies won the first title of the trophy by 1–0.
Cephas Zhuwao is a Zimbabwean international cricketer. He bats left-handed and bowls slow left arm orthodox spin.
Kyle Malcolm Jarvis is a Zimbabwean former cricketer who represented Zimbabwe and played for Lancashire. The son of another former Zimbabwean international cricketer Malcolm Jarvis,he was educated at St John's College,Harare,where he excelled at rugby and cricket. Kyle was a key bowler for Zimbabwe in the 2008 Under-19 World Cup and he also played for the Zimbabwe U-19 Rugby Team. He was coached by Zimbabwean veteran seamer Heath Streak. He was one of the fastest bowlers to have played for Zimbabwe bowling at 140 km/h very often during his early career. On 17 June 2021,Jarvis retired from all forms of cricket after battling a trio of illnesses earlier this year.
The Southern Rocks is one of five Zimbabwean cricket franchises. They are a first-class cricket team,based in the Masvingo and Matabeleland South area. They play their home matches at Masvingo Sports Club in Masvingo. The team initially ceased to play after the 2013–14 season. In their 47 first-class matches they won 3,lost 27,and drew 17. However,in December 2020,Zimbabwe Cricket confirmed they would be one of the teams playing in the 2020–21 Logan Cup Southern Rocks won their first Logan Cup trophy in the same 2020–21 season.
The Mashonaland Eagles is one of five cricket Zimbabwean cricket franchises. They are based in the Harare Metropolitan and Mashonaland Central area and play both first-class and limited overs cricket. They play their home matches at Harare Sports Club in Harare.
The Mountaineers is one of five cricket Zimbabwean cricket franchises. They are a first-class cricket team,based in the Manicaland and Mashonaland East area. They play their home matches at Mutare Sports Club in Mutare.
Sikandar Raza Butt is a Pakistani-born Zimbabwean international cricketer. He is an all-rounder,who bats right-handed and bowls right arm off-spin. He made his international debut for Zimbabwe in May 2013.
Njabulo Ncube is a Zimbabwean cricketer. He domestically represents the Matabeleland Tuskers,formerly the Westerns cricket team. He has represented Zimbabwe in one One-Day International. He considers Makhaya Ntini as his role model for his aggression and commitment to the game.
Peter Joseph Moor is an International cricketer. Born in Zimbabwe but an Irish citizen based on his Irish family,he has played for both nations,as a wicket-keeper batsman. He is a former vice-captain for the Zimbabwe cricket team and a current opening batsman for the Irish test team.
Ryan Ponsonby Burl is a Zimbabwean cricketer who plays for the national side. He made his international debut for Zimbabwe in February 2017.
The Namibia cricket team toured Zimbabwe in May 2022 to play five Twenty20 International (T20I) matches. The matches were played at the Queens Sports Club in Bulawayo,and it was the first men's T20I series between Zimbabwe and Namibia.
