Rehderodendron is a genus of five species of flowering plants in the family Styracaceae, native to southeastern Asia, from southwestern China south to Myanmar and Vietnam. [1]
The genus name of Rehderodendron is in honour of Alfred Rehder (1863–1949), a German-American botanical taxonomist and dendrologist who worked at the Arnold Arboretum of Harvard University. [2] It was first described and published in Sinensia Vol.2 on page 109 in 1932. [3]
The species are small deciduous trees growing to 10–15 m tall. [1]
40 fossil endocarps of †Rehderodendron custodum from the early Miocene, have been found in the Kristina Mine at Hrádek nad Nisou in North Bohemia, the Czech Republic. [6]
The Provisional Revolutionary Government of the Republic of South Vietnam, was formed on June 8, 1969, by North Vietnam as a purportedly independent shadow government that opposed the government of the Republic of Vietnam under President Nguyễn Văn Thiệu and then as a de facto country after the Fall of Saigon with the name Republic of South Vietnam from 30 April 1975 to 2 July 1976. Zanthoxylum is a genus of about 250 species of deciduous and evergreen trees, shrubs and climbers in the family Rutaceae that are native to warm temperate and subtropical areas worldwide. It is the type genus of the tribe Zanthoxyleae in the subfamily Rutoideae. Several of the species have yellow heartwood, to which their generic name alludes. Several species are cultivated for their use as spices, notably including Sichuan pepper.

Caldesia is a genus of aquatic plants. It includes three living species widespread across Europe, Asia, Africa and Australia. The genus "has an extensive Oligocene through Pleistocene fossil record in Eurasia," and has been found in fossil strata of the United States as well. Ten fossil species have been described for the genus.
Phoebe is a genus of evergreen trees and shrubs belonging to the Laurel family, Lauraceae. There are 75 accepted species in the genus, distributed in tropical and subtropical Asia and New Guinea. 35 species occur in China, of which 27 are endemic. The first description of the genus was of the type species P. lanceolata made in 1836 by Christian Gottfried Daniel Nees von Esenbeck in Systema Laurinarum, p. 98.
Bạch Long Vĩ island is located in the Gulf of Tonkin, about halfway between Haiphong (Vietnam) and Hainan Island (China). The island is an offshore district of Haiphong city. Fishing comprises the majority of economic activity in the Gulf of Tonkin, and Bạch Long Vĩ is a major nursery and harvesting area for fish eggs. More than 50 species of commercial fish are abundant in the area.
Viscum is a genus of about 70–100 species of mistletoes, native to temperate and tropical regions of Europe, Africa, Asia and Australasia. Traditionally, the genus has been placed in its own family Viscaceae, but recent genetic research by the Angiosperm Phylogeny Group shows this family to be correctly placed within a larger circumscription of the sandalwood family, Santalaceae. Its name is the origin of the English word viscous, after the Latin viscum, a sticky bird lime made from the plants' berries.

Quercus lanata, the woolly-leaved oak, is a species of Quercus native to southern and southeastern Asia, including India, Bhutan, Nepal, Indochina, and southwestern China. It is a large evergreen tree up to 30 metres tall. The leaves are thick and leathery, green on top but covered in thick wool on the underside. It is classified in subgenus Cerris, section Ilex.

It is a small genus, comprising only two to three extant species, all of which are native to eastern North America and the West Indies.
