Roseland NYC Live is a live album by English electronic music band Portishead. It was released on 2 November 1998 by Go! Beat. [1] A PAL format VHS video was released the same year, with a DVD version following four years later. [11] Although the New York Philharmonic is credited as appearing in the video, none of the musicians are members of the Philharmonic, nor is the Philharmonic credited in the audio album. [12]

The album was engineered by Rik Simpson.

Unlike the CD, all the tracks on the DVD were recorded at the Roseland Ballroom. The DVD version has a bonus elements section, containing the music videos for "Numb", "Sour Times", "All Mine", "Over" and "Only You", as well as short films "Road Trip" and "Wandering Star" and the Portishead short film To Kill a Dead Man .

25th Anniversary Reissue

In 2023, a newly remastered and expanded version was released.

The tracklisting now includes "Undenied" and "Numb" from the concert film, and the full length performance of "Western Eyes", which was played in part over the credits of the film. Also, "Sour Times" and "Roads" are now the actual Roseland versions, since previously these were substituted on the album release with recordings from other performances. The CD and vinyl versions were released on 26 April 2024.

Out of Season is largely a folk album with jazz leanings, with Gibbons and Webb drawing more directly on the influences of Nina Simone, Billie Holiday, and Nick Drake, at which Portishead's work in trip hop only hinted. A Brand New Me is a compilation album by American recording artist Aretha Franklin. It was released on November 10, 2017, by Rhino Records and Atlantic Records. The album features archival vocal performances that Franklin recorded for Atlantic Records accompanied by new orchestral arrangements by the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and newly recorded backing vocals, in addition to the original (archived) background vocal and instrumental accompaniments. Producer Nick Patrick said of the album: "There is a reason that Aretha Franklin is called the 'Queen of Soul.' There is nothing more exciting than that incredible voice taking you on an emotional roller coaster ride through her amazing repertoire of songs. To have the opportunity to work with that voice on this project has been the greatest honor and to hear a symphony orchestra wrapped around those performances is breathtaking." Franklin died in August 2018, nine months after the album's release.
