Sport Club/Clube Ribeira Bote (in Cape Verdean Creole, written in ALUPEC: R’bera Bot or Ribéra Boti) is a football club that plays in the São Vicente Island League in Cape Verde. The team is based in Ribeira Bote, a section of Mindelo in the island of São Vicente, the section is named after the stream located nearby, they play at Estádio Municipal Adérito Sena east of the city center, the stadium itself is also a part of the subdivision of Ribeira Bote. The club area stretches east to Bela Vista and the east of the city.

Cape Verdean Creole is a Portuguese-based creole language spoken on the islands of Cape Verde. It is also called kriolu or kriol by its native speakers. It is the native creole language of virtually all Cape Verdeans and is used as a second creole language by the Cape Verdean diaspora.

The Alfabeto Unificado para a Escrita do Caboverdiano, commonly known as ALUPEC, is the alphabet that was officially recognized by the Cape Verdean government to write Cape Verdean Creole.

Ribeira Bote is a subdivision of the city of Mindelo in the island of São Vicente, Cape Verde. Its population was 3,956 at the 2010 census. It borders the city centre to the northwest and Fonte Cónego to the north. The Hospital Velho and the church Nossa Senhora Auxiliadora are located in Ribeira Bote.

History

The team never won any insular championship, not even an opening tournament but it won their first an only insular cup in the 2002/03 season.

Ribeira Bote faced FC Derby in the 2005 regional cup final and lost the match as well as the regional title, as Derby were regional champions that season, Ribeira Bote earned them an entry into the regional super cup as cup runner up, it was not as successful as they did in the cup final and lost the super cup title do FC Derby.

Futebol Clube Derby is a football club that had played in the Premier division and the São Vicente Island League in Cape Verde and is Cape Verde's only affiliate of FC Porto and the oldest affiliate in the whole of Africa. It is based in the city of Mindelo on the island of São Vicente. It is the second team of the regional league who won the most titles after independence especially in the 1960s and the 1970s. Its current president is Carlos Alberto Lopes and its coach is Yoya who became in May 2017. The club name is the Dragons or Dragões, the same as Porto's slogan. Since 30 April 2017, they are one of three unrelegated clubs in the island along with Batuque and Mindelense.

Ribeira Bote became the second club after GS Castilho to be relegated since the two levels of regional competition were added in 2008. The club won the silver Second Division title in 2013 and returned to for the next two seasons. The club was last place in 2015 and directly relegated into the regional second division.

Just spend a year in that division, Ribeira Bote was first place and will be the only club to participate once more in the regional premier division in the following season.

On October 15, 2016, as Second Division winner, the club faced CS Mindelense, the Premier Division winner in the first ever regional (Divisional) Champion's Cup, the club lost the cup to Mindelense.

CS Mindelense

Clube Sportivo Mindelense (Capeverdean Crioulo, ALUPEC or ALUPEK: KS Mindelensi, São Vicente Crioulo: KS Mindelense is a football club that plays in the Premier division of the Interisland League in Cape Verde. It is based in the city of Mindelo in the island of São Vicente. Mindelense is the oldest club in Cape Verde. It is the team won the most cups before and after independence especially in the 1950s and the 1970s with nine titles before independence and eleven after independence. Their first participation in the national division before independence was unofficially in 1938 and officially in 1954, Mindelense first appeared after independence in 1980. Since 30 April 2017, they are one of three unrelegated clubs in the island along with Batuque and Derby. Its current chairman is Daniel de Jesus. The club's nickname is Leões Encarnados or the Incarnated Lions. A nickname that is used less often is the Red Devils or the Diablos Vermelhos.

Ribeira Bote started the 2017-18 season on the rough side, two straight losses before a scoreless draw with Mindelense was made and got their first seasonal point, more losses followed numbering three before two consecutive draws, first, a goal each with Salamansa was made on February 11, then three goals each with Académica Mindelo. Recently two straight losses Ribeira Bote suffered and is in last position,. They hav 10 goals scored, 4 out of 10 in matches ended in a draw and has 21 goals conceded alongside Castilho's. Ribeira Bote lost to Batuque 0-4, then 2-0 to the almighty Derby São Vicente and will be last next round and inside the partly relegation zone at the 13th round but one last chance of being relieved from relegation by the 14th round. Ribeira Bote conceded 27 goals, the worst in the region. Relegation was likely occur to Ribeira Bote later in the month and the club could not escape the promotional decisional match zone.. The final match of the season was their recent Premier Division win over Salamansa 1-2 and finished last with 9 points and scored 13 goals. Ribeira Bote once again faces relegation into the Second Division next season.

Associação Académica do Mindelo is a football club that had played in the Premier division and the São Vicente Island League in Cape Verde. It is based in the city of Mindelo on the island of São Vicente and plays in a stadium with a capacity of 5,000. The club is an affiliate of the Portuguese club Académica de Coimbra. It is one of the first teams ever to win a provincial title before independence, in 1953, a year later. There was no further competition until 1956. Académica won their first title since independence in 1989. Other titles includes four for the island including their recent 2006/07 season win and two opening tournaments along with their recent win.
