Chiyar Jaqhi (Azángaro)

Ch'iyar Jaqhi is a mountain in the Peruvian Andes, about 4,600 metres (15,092 ft) high. It is located in the Puno Region, Azángaro Province, on the border of the districts Potoni and San Antón. Ch'iyar Jaqhi lies northwest of the mountain Uqi Apachita and east of Ichhu Muruq'u.

Ichhu Muruq'u is a mountain in the Peruvian Andes, about 4,600 metres (15,092 ft) high. It is located in the Puno Region, Azángaro Province, on the border of the districts Potoni and San Antón. Ichhu Muruq'u lies west of the mountain Ch'iyar Jaqhi and northeast of Yuraq Apachita and Quri Kunka.

Ethnic groups

The people in the district are mainly indigenous citizens of Quechua descent. Quechua is the language which the majority of the population (70.87%) learnt to speak in childhood, 28.80% of the residents started speaking using the Spanish language (2007 Peru Census). [3]
