Guayas is a coastal province in Ecuador. It is bordered to the west by Manabí, Santa Elena, and the Pacific Ocean ; to the east by Los Ríos, Bolívar, Chimborazo, Cañar, and Azuay; to the north by Los Ríos and Bolívar; and to the south by El Oro and the Pacific Ocean.
El Oro is the southernmost of Ecuador's coastal provinces. It was named for its historically important gold production. Today it is one of the world's major exporters of bananas. The capital is Machala.
Pichincha is a province of Ecuador located in the northern sierra region; its capital and largest city is Quito. It is bordered by Imbabura and Esmeraldas to the north, Cotopaxi and Santo Domingo de los Tsáchilas to the south, Napo and Sucumbíos to the east, and Esmeraldas and Santo Domingo de los Tsáchilas to the west.
Salinas is a coastal city located in the Province of Santa Elena, Ecuador. It is the seat of the canton that bears its name. The westernmost city on mainland Ecuador, Salinas is an important tourist center. Salinas, Ecuador's largest coastal resort, offers one of the country's best real estate investment markets and most popular and most upscale beach lifestyle. Recently, Salinas was the center of controversy during the contentious "more fun, less sun," debate. It was the site of the ISA World Junior Surfing Games Ecuador in 2009. There are two major yacht clubs in Salinas, the first is Salinas Yacht Club, which is a good bit smaller than the Puerto Lucia Yacht Club, in Santa Elena, in an area known as 'La Libertad' which, in Spanish means; 'The Freedom Town'. Puerto Lucia boasts a hotel, several restaurants to eat, a private beach and apartment block buildings, as well as the large marina and port.
Santo Domingo de los Tsáchilas is a province in the Republic of Ecuador, created in October 2007 from territory previously in the province of Pichincha.

Pomasqui is a village in Quito Canton, Ecuador. Located 16 kilometres (9.9 mi) north of Quito, and 6 kilometres (3.7 mi) from the equator, it is on the road to Ciudad Mitad del Mundo. The village's main plaza, Plaza Yerovi, features two churches, the Church of El Senor del Arbol, as well as the parish church, which contains some religious paintings which are considered odd. Santa Clara is the patron saint of Pomasqui. Dia de Santa Clara and the fiesta of El Senor del Arbol are both celebrated in July. The economy features a shoe industry, which uses parts of the maguey plant found in the region. The climate is so dry as to have given it the name of Piurita. The southern boundary of the Cara culture, extended to Pomasqui.
