Spirographa is a genus of parasitic fungi. It is the sole genus in the monotypic family Spirographaceae, belong to the order Ostropales. [1] The genus was circumscribed by Alexander Zahlbruckner in 1903, with Spirographa spiralis later assigned as the type species in 1923. The family Spirographaceae was circumscribed by Adam Flakus, Javier Etayo and Jolanta Miadlikowska in 2019 on the basis of molecular phylogenetic analysis. They determined that genus Spirographa is an independent lineage in the Ostropales, sister to the clade containing the families Fissurinaceae, Gomphillaceae, and Graphidaceae. [2]
Scutula is a genus of lichenicolous fungi in the family Ramalinaceae.
The Ostropales are an order of fungi in the class Lecanoromycetes. The order was circumscribed by Swedish botanist John Axel Nannfeldt in 1932. The order contains 4 families and 46 genera, including 6 genera of uncertain familial placement.
Lichenochora is a genus of fungi in the family Phyllachoraceae. It has 44 species. All species in the genus are lichenicolous, meaning they grow parasitically on lichens. The genus was circumscribed by Josef Hafellner in 1989, with Lichenochora thallina assigned as the type species.
Plectocarpon is a genus of lichens in the family Lecanographaceae.
Stigmidium is a genus of lichenicolous (lichen-eating) fungi in the family Mycosphaerellaceae. The genus was circumscribed by Italian botanist Vittore Benedetto Antonio Trevisan de Saint-Léon in 1860, with Stigmidium schaereri assigned as the type species.
Lichenopeltella is a genus of fungi in the class Dothideomycetes with 48 species. Its classification is incertae sedis with respect to familial and ordinal placement within the class. It may be in Trichothyriaceae.
Abrothallus is a genus of lichenicolous fungi. It is the only genus in the monotypic family Abrothallaceae, which itself is the sole taxon in the order Abrothallales.
Zwackhiomyces is a genus of lichenicolous fungi in the family Xanthopyreniaceae. The genus was circumscribed by Martin Grube and Josef Hafellner in 1990, with Zwackhiomyces coepulonus assigned as the type species.
Thelocarpon is a genus of fungi in the family Thelocarpaceae.
Llimoniella is a genus of fungi in the family Cordieritidaceae. The genus was circumscribed by lichenologists Josef Hafellner and Père Navarro-Rosinés in 1993.
Rhymbocarpus is a genus of lichenicolous (lichen-dwelling) fungi in the family Cordieritidaceae. It has 10 species. The genus was circumscribed by German mycologist Friedrich Wilhelm Zopf in 1896, with Rhymbocarpus punctiformis assigned as the type species.
Gyalecta is a genus of lichen-forming fungi in the family Gyalectaceae that contains 50 species. Gyalecta was circumscribed by lichenologist Erik Acharius in 1808. It forms associations with Trentepohlia algae.
Lichenoconium is a genus of fungi belonging to the family Lichenoconiaceae.
Corticifraga is a genus of lichenicolous fungi in the family Gomphillaceae. The genus was circumscribed by David Leslie Hawksworth and Rolf Santesson in 1990, with Corticifraga peltigerae assigned as the type species.
Cordieritidaceae is a family of fungi in the order Cyttariales. Species in this family are saprobes or lichenicolous.
Melaspilea is a genus of lichen-forming and lichenicolous fungi in the family Melaspileaceae. The genus was circumscribed by Finnish lichenologist William Nylander in 1857.
Sclerococcum is a genus of lichenicolous fungi in the family Dactylosporaceae.
Zhurbenkoa is a genus of lichenicolous fungi in the family Malmideaceae. It has three species. The genus was circumscribed in 2019 by Adam Flakus, Javier Etayo, Sergio Pérez-Ortega, and Pamela Rodriguez-Flakus, with Zhurbenkoa epicladonia assigned as the type species. Closely related genera are Savoronala and Sprucidea. The generic name honours Russian lichenologist Mikhail Zhurbenko, "for his magnificent contribution to knowledge on the biodiversity and systematics of lichenicolous fungi, including lichen parasites colonizing Cladonia".
Spirographa ciliata is a species of lichenicolous fungus in the family Spirographaceae. It was first formally described by Klaus Kalb in 1993 as Cornutispora ciliata. Adam Grzegorz Flakus, Javier Etayo, and Jolanta Miądlikowska transferred it to genus Spirographa in 2019.
