St Aloysius Higher Secondary School (formerly St Aloysius English School) is a Catholic high school located in the District of Kollam in the Roman Catholic Diocese of Quilon. [1] It was founded by the Congregation of Christian Brothers in 1896, [2] with the main building completed in 1900. [3]

In 1932 it had 23 lay teachers and 479 pupils. [4]

This school is located near to Vaddy beach, Kollam around the corner from Vaddy Church.

Nearly 4000 students study in this institution, which was upgraded to senior secondary school.

The main subjects in Higher secondary section are science, computer science and commerce.

The High School is currently co-educational.

Mar Sabor and Mar Proth

Mar Sapir and Mar Prot, according to Syrian Malabar Christian tradition, were two Chaldean Assyrian bishops who landed in the port of Kollam by the help of a Nestorian merchant, Sabr Iso in 823 AD. This was accompanied by the second Assyrian migration to Kerala. Many Syrian Christian families most notably the Muthalaly family of Kollam, Panicker family of Kundara, Vaidyan family of Thevalakkara and the Tharakans of Kollam are descended from these migrants. The mission is said to have received permission from the then king of Kerala to build a church in Kollam.

He was declared Servant of God on February 24, 2019 by Kollam Bishop Paul Antony Mullassery at Infant Jesus Cathedral, Thangassery.
