Sun Hongzhi (born September 1965) is a Chinese politician who spent most of his career in Northeast China's Jilin province. As of December 2014 he was under investigation by the Communist Party's anti-corruption agency. [1] At the time of his investigation,Sun served as the Vice-Minister of the State Administration for Industry and Commerce (SAIC). [2]
Sun was a member of the 11th National People's Congress. [3]
Sun was born and raised in Jiaohe,Jilin. He became involved in politics and joined the Chinese Communist Party in July 1986.
He graduated from Liaoning Technical University. On leaving university in 1990,he worked at Inner Mongolia Coal Industry Company as an engineer.
He served in various posts in Changchun Coal Technology Center before serving as the deputy head of the Coal Industry Bureau of Jilin in July 2001.
He entered Jilin University in September 1999,majoring in management at the College of Management,where he graduated in July 2004.
He served as Head and deputy party branch secretary of the Coal Industry Bureau of Jilin from September 2004 to January 2005,and party branch secretary,from January 2005 to March 2006.
In March 2006,he was named acting mayor of Songyuan,and served as deputy Communist Party secretary. [4] At the same time as holding the post of Mayor between December 2006 to December 2010. [4]
In January 2011,he was transferred to Beijing and worked in State Administration for Industry and Commerce (SAIC),he was promoted to vice-minister in May 2013. [4]
On December 26,2014,the state media reported that he was being investigated by the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection of the Chinese Communist Party for "serious violations of laws and regulations". [5] Sun was expelled from the Communist Party on June 15,2015. The party investigation concluded that Sun "hid his activities from the organization," used official vehicles for personal reasons,used public funds for food,lodging,and travelling,solicited and accepted "massive bribes",and "adultery". [6]
On February 17,2017,Sun was sentenced to 18 years in prison for taking bribes worth 14.20 million yuan (~$2.07 million),plundering the public treasury worth 1.64 million yuan (~$0.24 million) and unidentified 9.53 million yuan (~$1.39 million) property in Tai'an People's Intermediate Court.
Su Rong is a former senior regional official and politician in China. He began his career in his native Jilin,and successively served as Chinese Communist Party Committee Secretary of Qinghai,Gansu,and Jiangxi provinces. In March 2013,he became one of the vice-chairmen of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC).

In 2013,he was investigated for "serious disciplinary violations",a phrase usually denoting corruption,and subsequently expelled from the Chinese Communist Party (CCP).
Wang Yongchun is a former Chinese business executive in the oil and gas industry. Wang was an Alternate Member of 18th Central Committee of the Chinese Communist Party.
Yang Gang is a former Chinese politician. Between 2010 and 2013 Yang served as the deputy director of the General Administration of Quality Supervision,Inspection and Quarantine (AQSIQ). Between 1999 and 2010,he was a top regional official in Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region,serving first as the Communist Party Secretary of regional capital Urumqi and then Deputy Secretary of the Xinjiang regional Party Committee.
Tang Aijun is a former Chinese politician from Inner Mongolia. Tang served as mayor of Hulunbuir,Inner Mongolia,from 2003 to 2005,and as mayor of the regional capital,Hohhot,from 2005 to 2010. As of August 2014 Tang is under investigation for alleged "serious violations of law and discipline."
Wu Changshun is the former police chief of the municipality of Tianjin,China. Wu is also an inventor,and has 35 patents and utility models to his credit. Wu spent 44 years working for the Tianjin Public Security Bureau and was the chief of the police force for some eleven years. Wu was dismissed from office in July 2014,and was placed under investigation by the Communist Party's anti-corruption agency. He was expelled from the party in February 2015.
Ma Zhengqi is a retired Chinese politician. He served as deputy director of the State Administration for Industry and Commerce between 2013 and 2018 and deputy director of the State Administration for Market Regulation between 2018 and 2019. He was a member of the 18th CPC Central Committee and a member of the 13th Standing Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference.
He Jiacheng is a former Chinese academic and public official. Between March 2013 and October 2014 he served as the executive vice president of China National School of Administration. He was dismissed from his position in October 2014,suspected of corruption.
Xu Jie is a former Chinese politician. He was formerly the deputy director of the State Bureau for Letters and Calls. He joined the workforce in April 1974. Between 1978 and 1982 he studied at Renmin University and graduated with a degree in economics. Since 1989 he has worked in the state petitioning system as an officer. He worked briefly as a deputy county governor in Changyi County,Shandong province between 1992 and 1993. He began working as the General Office chief of the SBLC in 2000. He then joined the organization's party group and became deputy director in 2005.
Xiao Tian is a former Chinese fencer and sports administrator. He most recently held the post of the Deputy Director of the General Administration of Sport of China. On June 25,2015,Xiao Tian was investigated by the Communist Party of China's anti-graft agency. He is the first high-ranking implicated official being examined from sports system after the 18th Party Congress in 2012.
Xi Xiaoming is a disgraced Chinese judge,who served as Vice President of the Supreme People's Court,the top court and a fourth-ranked judge in China,between June 2004 and July 2015. In July 2015,he was abruptly removed from office by the Communist Party's top disciplinary body,suspected of corruption.
Yang Dongliang is a former Chinese politician who spent most of his career in the city of Tianjin in northern China. He has successively served as the vice mayor of Tianjin,and the Director of the State Administration of Work Safety. In August 2015,he was put under investigation by the Communist Party's anti-corruption agency. Yang was a member of the 18th Central Committee of the Chinese Communist Party;he was the sixth member of the committee to be investigated for wrongdoing following the 18th Party Congress.
Over one hundred officials of provincial-ministerial level and above have been implicated by the anti-corruption campaign in China,which began after the 18th National Congress of the Chinese Communist Party in 2012. The number of officials implicated below the provincial level are much higher. The tables on this list includes only officials for which a case has been initiated by the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection.
Wang Bao'an is a former Chinese politician who served as director of the National Bureau of Statistics since April 2015. On January 26,2016,Wang was placed under investigation by the Communist Party of China's anti-graft agency.
Liu Zhigeng is a former Chinese politician. He was the Vice-Governor of Guangdong and the Communist Party Secretary of Dongguan. On February 4,2016,Liu was placed under investigation by the Communist Party's anti-corruption agency.On April 18,2016,Liu Zhigeng was double opened and transferred to the judiciary.
Li Chengyun is a former Chinese politician who served as Vice-Governor of Sichuan from 2008 to 2011. He was convicted of corruption in 2017 and sentenced to ten years in prison.
Yu Haiyan is a former Chinese official. At the height of his career,he served as the Vice Governor of Gansu and Communist Party Secretary of Lanzhou. On January 11,2017,Yu was placed under investigation by the Communist Party's anti-corruption agency. He was the second high-ranking politician being examined from Gansu province after the 18th Party Congress in 2012.
Sun Bo is a Chinese business executive and engineer who served as General Manager of China Shipbuilding Industry Corporation (CSIC). He was arrested for allegedly giving classified details about the Liaoning to the CIA.
Ai Wenli is a former Chinese politician who served as the Vice-Chairman of the Hebei Provincial Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference. Previously,he served as the head of the Propaganda Department of the Chinese Communist Party Hebei Committee and the Mayor of Shijiazhuang. He was placed under investigation by the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection and the National Supervisory Commission shortly after his retirement. Ai is the first leader of vice-ministerial level to spontaneously hand himself in to the anti-corruption agency of China after the implementation of Supervision Law in March 2018.
Wu Zhen is a former Chinese politician who served as the Deputy Commissioner of the National Health and Family Planning Commission and the deputy director of the China Food and Drug Administration. He was dismissed from his position in August 2018 and placed under investigation by the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection and the National Supervisory Commission.
