Wu Jide (born September 1955) is a Chinese politician from Gansu province. He was investigated by the Chinese Communist Party's anti-graft agency in October 2014. Previously he served as the deputy head of the United Front Work Department of the CPC Gansu province Committee. [1] [2]
Wu was born and raised in Tongwei County,Gansu. He entered Dingxi College of Agriculture in September 1976,where he graduated in September 1978.
Wu began his political career in September 1978,and joined the Chinese Communist Party in December 1983.
From September 1978 to January 1984,he worked in Tongwei County.
Beginning in 1984,he served in several posts in Dingxi,including deputy head of the Propaganda Department of the Communist Youth League of Dingxi,head of the Propaganda Department of the Communist Youth League of Dingxi,and deputy party chief of Communist Youth League of Dingxi.
In August 1989 he was promoted to become deputy party chief of Zhangzhou County,a position he held until June 1991,then he was transferred to Lanzhou,capital of Gansu province,he served as deputy party chief of Xigu District from December 1994 to September 1997.
In September 1997,he became deputy party chief and magistrate of Yuzhong County,and two years later promoted to the party chief position,the top political position in the County.
In March 2002,he was appointed the vice mayor of Lanzhou,he remained in that position until November 2005,when he was promoted to become deputy party chief and executive vice mayor.
In September 2010,he was promoted again to become deputy head of the United Front Work Department of the CPC Gansu province Committee,he concurrently served as party chief and vice-president of Gansu Provincial Federation of Industry and Commerce.
On October 22,2014,he was being investigated by the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection for "serious violations of laws and regulations". [3] In November 2014,he has been placed on file for further investigation. [4]
In April 2015,he was expelled from the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and removed from public office. On October 14,he was indicted on suspicion of accepting bribes.
On January 7,2017,he was eventually sentenced to a 16-year jail and fined 650,000 yuan for taking bribes and abusing his public power by the Zhangye Intermediate People's Court. [5] He was accused of illegally accepting money and gifts amounting to over 11.92 million yuan and 30600 US dollars while holding various government positions between 2000 and 2014 in Gansu,absorbing more than 66.96 million yuan of public deposits and misappropriating more than 8.15 million yuan of public funds. [5]
Xu Shousheng was a Chinese politician. He was the Communist Party Secretary of Hunan from 2013 to 2016. He served as the Governor of Hunan and Gansu provinces.
Wang Sanyun is a former Chinese politician. He began his political career in Guizhou province,before serving in Sichuan,Fujian,and Anhui provinces. He served as Anhui governor between 2007 and 2011,and was transferred to Gansu to serve as Communist Party Secretary between 2011 and 2017. Shortly after leaving office,he was put under investigation for violating party discipline by the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection.
Yang Gang is a former Chinese politician. Between 2010 and 2013 Yang served as the deputy director of the General Administration of Quality Supervision,Inspection and Quarantine (AQSIQ). Between 1999 and 2010,he was a top regional official in Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region,serving first as the Communist Party Secretary of regional capital Urumqi and then Deputy Secretary of the Xinjiang regional Party Committee.
Bai Yun is a Chinese regional politician from Shanxi province. She was the Communist Party Secretary of Yuncheng between 2012 and 2013. Bai was the first female official of provincial-ministerial rank to be investigated for corruption after the 18th National Congress of the Chinese Communist Party. At the time the investigation against her was opened,she was serving as a member of the Shanxi Provincial Party Committee and the Head of the United Front Work Department of Shanxi Province. She was expelled from the Party in 2015 for abuse of power and accepting bribes.
Wu Jun is a Chinese politician from Guizhou province. As of June 2014 he was under investigation by the Communist Party's anti-corruption agency. Previously he served as the Vice-Mayor of Guiyang.
Lu Wucheng is a former Chinese official who spent most of his career in Gansu province. He was the vice Chairman of the Standing Committee of the Gansu Provincial People's Congress and Communist Party Secretary of Lanzhou. Lu also was the member of 12th National People's Congress. On January 23,2015,Lu Wucheng was placed under investigation by the Communist Party's anti-corruption agency. He was the first high-ranking politician being examined from Gansu province after the 18th Party Congress in 2012.
Zhou Zhenhong is a former Chinese politician,who most recently served as the head of the United Front Work Department of the Guangdong provincial Party Committee. Previously he also served as Communist Party Secretary of Maoming,a city in Guangdong province. Between 2008 and 2013,he served as a member of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference.
Over one hundred officials of provincial-ministerial level and above have been implicated by the anti-corruption campaign in China,which began after the 18th Party Congress in 2012. The number of officials implicated below the provincial level are much higher. Luan Kejun is a former Chinese politician who spent his career in his home province Gansu in northwest China. He entered the workforce in December 1978,and joined the Chinese Communist Party in June 1986. He was investigated by the Chinese Communist Party's anti-graft agency in November 2017. At the height of his career,he served as deputy party chief and mayor of Lanzhou,capital of Gansu province.
Zeng Zhiquan is a former Chinese politician who served as the Head of the United Front Work Department of the CPC Guangdong Committee. He was dismissed from his position in July 2018 and placed under investigation by the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection and the National Supervisory Commission.
Ai Wenli is a former Chinese politician who served as the Vice-Chairman of the Hebei Provincial Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference. Li Ningping is a retired Chinese politician and business executive. He entered the workforce in December 1968,and joined the Communist Party of China in August 1977. He worked in Gansu Electric Power Investment Co.,Ltd. for 22 years,ultimately being appointed party chief and chairman. He was investigated by China's top anti-graft agency in December 2020. Before he stepped down,he had retired for four years. He was a delegate to the 11th National People's Congress.
